Easy to use and works as advertised

This laminator gave me the results I expected from the similar 3M machine. The 3M 5 mil pouches are great, but I'd frequently get bubbles with the 3M laminator. So I ordered this, and I'm glad I did. It's basically the same machine, but after seven letter-sized, 5 mil laminations, I've got seven perfectly laminated documents and no bubbles—not even on the edges. The 3M manual tells you that it may be necessary to put 5 mill sheets through the machine twice, but I've never had the need with the Amazon Basics version. My machine heats up in almost exactly one minute and is easy to use as any other machine—just feed it in. But your attention can be on aligning the document in the pouch, and not on bubbles.

I bought the 12-in Amazon thermal laminator used thinking I was going to save a little bit of money versus buying 3M. It's longer than I'm used to so it gives me more capability, but there are some things I just like about it. It has a nice flat finish with three mil and five mil switch on it versus a press button which is something I like. It laminates at a nice smooth rate and I haven't seen a blemish on the finished product yet.It's super quiet and it doesn't smell like it's burning or anything. At $25 I feel like I just won the lottery with this thing.

It shuts itself off after about 20 minutes-- even if something is currently running through it, which in turn ruins the item being laminated. Small items get stuck and it wrinkles them-- which in turn ruins the small item being laminated.

Love this! Got this so that I can laminate decorations to reuse! Works great! Tried to laminate stickers and doesn't not work well. Got stuck and had to take apart to get jam fixed. Relatively easy, hard to find the right sized screwdriver. Definitely easier to laminate things with structure! Stickers offer no support and are more likely to get stuck on the roller! I had a feeling this would be the case, but I just laminated with caution!

This has probably been one of my favorite classroom purchases EVER. It heats up very quickly. I've had it for about a year and haven't noticed any changes in the overall quality or in its ability to work well. You choose between two different thicknesses or lamination and it goes through at a pretty slow pace. I like that it came with a few different pieces of different size lamination sheets, and they had a little grip or stickiness to them to help material stay put until it went through the laminator. Again if you've ever wanted one, just get one!!
