5 star product and 5 star company/seller. I would give more stars if i could. A filter to highly extend the life of my filter, Awesome! edited 11/4/16. This is a must have if you already have the survivor filter and a good filter is a must have for emergencies. I did alot of reasearch before purchasing the survivor filter, I was looking at the katadyn water filters or this filter. The fiter and filter replacement part where a much better deal than Katadyn so i went with the survivor filter and IM GLAD I DID. I cant emphasize enough what a pleasure it has been to deal with this company. I bought a backpack from them on amazon, when i bought the backpack it said it was a 2 count, so i contacted amazon customer service before ordering to ask what the 2 cout was about, the rep told me it meant you got 2 backpacks. Tha was a deal i just couldnt pass up, so i ordered but when it came i only recieved one backpack. I was disapointed by this and contacted Amazon to ask what happened. I was informed that the rep was misinformed about the 2 count meaning 2 backpacks. It was a 2 count because their was a water hydration pack included with the backpack. I was pretty disapointed to hear this and i contacted the company to tell them what happened with the mixup and that i was pretty disapointed by the misinformation i had recieved from the Amazon rep and the company after hearing about what happened immediatly sent me another backpack! Then recently i ordered this pro-le kit and was sent a complete Pro le survivor filter set instead. I contacted the company and they said there must have been a mix-up but that the mixup was my gain and that i could keep the filter. These guys treat their customers VERY WELL! This filter will filter down to 0.01 microns which is great for a water filter and especially for the price. These guys figured out how to make a very nice quality water filter and are able to offer it at a great price,It even passes epa standards, Im really impressed. Also ive had the pleasure of dealing with Mike and Mark from the company, these guys are A class i have to say. And after some small talk with them i learned they are a small business at that, that is able to offer such a great deal and i like to support small business's! Not only that but after some small talk with these guys i leaned they were able to send help to Haiti and Michigan when they were having water crisis's, which makes me want to support these all the guys more. I would say these guys are everyday heroes and it makes me feel like a part of that to to be able to support such a generous company. Thanks Survivor Filters!

I was very impressed with this small electric water filter. It was easy to set up with 2 AA batteries ( not included). Connect the two tubings to the top & side and ready to go. Lightweight ,durable. I tested it to ensure it worked and quickly had a small stream of filtered water. It is rather slow to come thru and would take awhile to fill a gallon size jug. Yes I would buy it again.Check out the YouTube videos on how to connect and rinse afterwards for storage. Great little filter.

I have both Survivor Filters and like them. I have yet to utilized the manual pump one but have used the electric Pro on several occasions during water boil orders, which is the primary function of the electric version. I own 4 different popular brands of water filtration systems and the Survivor Pro gets used the most and having extra replacement filters will give me a piece of mind that I can purify a lot of water if a real disaster strikes. I like how fast it filters water quickly with very little effort and how much it can filter. The cost of these replacement filters is reasonable compared to other brands and will last a long time. Taking of my emergency survival equipment is a must and having a filtration system that produces clean and good tasting water is a no brainer…

3 and a half star if it were possible. This rating does not reflect the quality of this item, but rather the description of the item.. I felt a bit misleading. The kit claims to be an "upgrade" to your existing SFP kit.. describing it as a pre-filter that "extends the life of your existing SFP's filtration components (by allowing a more purified water through the filtration kit.. essentially making the main kit's filtration system have to catch less contaminants. This is what I thought I would be receiving. What I felt I received was a replacement filter for one of the three filter stages of the main SFP kit.. that came with an identical hose that I assume replaces the main kits hose. Also, an identical carrying bag that comes with the main kit. Technically, this is an SFP kit that has simply had its filtration system (in its entirety) removed, and replaced with a replacement filter. Nowhere in this package do I see relevancy to an "upgrade." Perhaps there's a way to connect the two hoses together via the "replacement filter," then have the water enter this kit's filtration system with a cleaner water. The logic behind that is what knocks one of the stars off, though. I'll mention the "half star" (rounded up to 1) next. If you hook one filter to another one of the same filters, rather than using one and replacing when it goes bad. The object is to filter out a definitive amount of contaminants, then dispose of it. I came to that realization prior to ordering the "upgrade kit." With that being said, I'm changing my rating to a 4 star. Facts- I'm buying the kit to filter water longer. The price of the "upgrade kit" is perfectly acceptable to me, even from a perspective of purchasing replacement parts. I have not used this item.. I just received it. I hope I won't have to use it for a long time, but if I do use it.. I doubt it'd be in a position where I'd whip out my phone and give a 5 star review while taking a leisurely sip of water from some creek in the woods because I didn't think to pack a couple water bladders in my "let's hit the woods" backpack. At the point I use this filter, I can guarantee my smart phone will be dead.. and this product should get a review. In a nutshell.. the extra bag, cord and filter are worth the price of this kit.

Took this into the mountains for a week drinking only stream water and while it was more work than my sons life straw, at the end of one week my sons water bladder had a slight yellow tint while mine was crystal clear. Highly recommend. Oh.. Don't let it freeze while wet. I had to purchase a new filter after I let it freeze. Keep it near a warm body or anything above freezing.
