Perfect tool for the job

and something I will never, ever do again. There's nothing about tile work that I find remotely satisfying.I have a large walk-in tiled shower and it was being used exclusively by my sister and brother-in-law for the last 4 years because they were living with me. As it turned out, dear sister didn't think scrubbing the shower was needed for the last 4 years! They just moved out and when I saw my MOLDY shower, I couldn't believe my eyes. I sprayed it with bleach for 2 weeks and that didn't touch it. I tried scrubbing to no avail... Enter Homax.It took me a week to scrape caulk and grind out a section of grout and was ready to finally redo the caulk. I prefer caulk in squeeze tubes, but couldn't find the gray color I needed, so I had to use a caulk gun...ugh. Hate caulk guns. Bought a new dripless caulk gun (fantastic invention and purchased here on Amazon) and this fantastic Homax tool and worked up the courage to do the caulking...after all the work to prep, I really didn't want to mess this up! Between the dripless caulk gun and this fantastic Homax caulking tool, the job was completely painless and finished in an hour and looks like a professional did it. I like how the angled rubber on the Homax acted like a squeegee on the floor and wall. I, for the most part, got a very clean bead with very little cleanup left behind. You need to get the right angle on it and then it works perfectly. The right angle and clean it often gets the job done nicely.I am so glad I bought this tool. I bought two so I will have a spare in case a touch-up is ever needed.Tile work is a horrid job for me (I did my backsplash years ago and hated every minute of it), but having the right tools made this one not as bad as I had feared. Still, if I can help it, I will never do tile work again.Buy this Homax tool! It makes caulking so much easier and so does a dripless caulk gun.

Admittedly I'm about the worlds worst caulker, partially because I'm a carpenter not a painter and just don't enjoy doing it. But when the need arrises it's nice to have a tool like this to help tidy up the mess I usually make. As expected, cleanup ease or difficulty will vary greatly with the type of caulk being applied. Paintable, water cleanup caulk is a breeze whereas a calk like Log Builder and the higher quality OSI caulks need to be cleaned off immediately or you might as well throw the tool away. Worth having in my caulk bag.

If you are caulking anything; from windows, doors, trim or even tile caulk for shower bases. You use this you’ll never need a sponge or use your fingers ever again

This item was extremely effective in helping us finish the caulking on our baseboards so it looked clean and professional. Really easy to use. Highly recommend.

For those who dislike getting their fingers wet/dirty. This product was recommended to me by an employee from a hardware store. My old method was to use a damp finger and smooth. After using this product once, I went back to my old method. New doesn't always mean improved I guess.I found my old method to be easier, quicker, and ensured much better control of the final smoothing process. Old school FTW here. Don't get me wrong, the product does as stated and will work, but you can get a much better final result with a disposable cup of water and some paper towels. If you are fastidious and dislike getting your fingers dirty, I would recommend this product to you. If you're much more interested in final results, I'd suggest my old method.

I've used multiple caulk finishing tools, including my finger, but this one provides the smoothest, most consistent finish I've ever been able to achieve. Highly recommended. No amateur should be without one of these (at least) in their kit.

I was DREADING recaulking. Put it off way longer than I should have. Luckily I found this little tool first and it made the job much easier than I expected. Wouldn’t caulk again without it.
