Marvel Legends Captain America 75th Anniversary Metal Shield

I am so happy with this purchase!!! I have been looking at Captain America shield for a long time and most of the shields in this quality level are between 600 and $900. I was able to get this for $275 by pre-ordering but even at $300 it's wonderful. The paint looks great the shield looks awesome it's thick and seems to be very durable. I want to hang this on my wall but I haven't yet because I'm nervous. I don't want to scratch the paint and I'm afraid of the shield falls due to its weight make and the aluminum but then again the aluminum is very thick so even if you dropped it on its edge I don't think it would bend although it may chip some paint. The shield feels very heavy duty and if you're looking for a Captain America shield this may be the one for you.Just FYI, some cosplay events may not allow you to bring this shield because of its weight and the fact that it could actually be used as a weapon because it's so durable. There's another version that is made out of plastic that looks just as good but is $99. The only drawback to that one is that the star in the middle does not have the same detail as this one. This metal shield creates the middle star with five dionond shapes meeting in the middle to form the star like the movie. The plastic version just has a star more like the comic books.I'm very happy I purchased this version and it looks 100% movie accurate

Great! totally blown away, looks 100% better in person than the pictures in the ad! I bought the $100 plastic version thinking the metallic paint would make it look real as long as I was just going to hang it on the wall, but that wasn't the case at all. Still it was pretty cool if you only had $100 to spend. Still, I was looking for more. When the pre-sale ad came out for the metal version I wasn't all that impressed, the pictures didn't do it justice, they made it look not all that different than the plastic one. So I considered paying about $400 for a really nice fan made replica. I was going to bite the bullet when all the sudden the price on the Marvel Legends Captain America 75th Anniversary shield dropped to $250 on Amazon. That made it worth a shot and I'm glad because I am blown away with how cool it looks in person. The finish is perfect, the straps and everything feels solid and well made. In certain light the colors may look a little lighter than the movie version but when I hung it on the wall it was perfect! If I knew how great it really looked I would have easily paid $300 but the $250 price was a BONUS! Well worth the money I would recommend it to the most hard core collector.

If you are picky, don't spend your money on this.This is a really cool shield. It's metal, it's big, and its a good reproduction. It's very expensive but i think it might be worth it.The one major problem with this shield is that the quality control is terrible. The first one I got looked o on the front, but the back had huge grinder marks on it where they were grinding the rivets. I returned it and got a second one. The second one has some paint drips and smears on the edge and a very noticeable scuff on the front. I can live with this because i want this shield and not the plastic one. i want metal.There are quite a few reviews that have the same story as me, so that leads me to believe your odds of getting a near perfect one are pretty bad. For this much money I would think that there would be better quality control.

Let me start by saying that when you hold this shield you feel AWESOME. It awakens the kid inside of you. The dream of holding Captain America's shield has come true and it's just amazing as an adult to fulfill the dream of your inner 5 year old.Hasbro has done a good job making this shield. The Black Series lightsabers prove they can make quality toys. It looks gorgeous with the glossy finish and the machined design. The weight is satisfying but not too heavy. The straps get the job done but how they hold up only time will tell.I have been looking at getting a metal shield like this for 2 years now. $300 is expensive but I wish you good luck finding a better option. The plastic ones are $20-$100 but lack appeal to collectors or people who want to display the shield. Custom made shields from Etsy or similar sites range from $400 to even $1000.This is a mass produced product and is not perfect. There are some scuffs in the paint that are pretty hard to notice. There are some scuffs on the back that are very noticeable (other reviewers have pictures of these).To me this exists in the happy medium. It's a high quality product that at the time of this review is already $20 cheaper than MSRP. It's not the best one on the market but it's several hundred dollars cheaper than that.

I gotta say I'm quite amazed at this product. The metal sounds amazing when you strike your hand on it but I don't recommend you use full force of course. The finish quality on the shield is quite amazing and there was no faulty marks or anything on my shield. One thing that I was quite surprised about was the weight of this shield. When you first get the box, you know what you're expecting but it doesn't feel heavy. However, once you wear the shield on your forearm, which comes nicely in fake leather straps, sturdy and tough straps, you get a sense of the weight start the bare down on your arm. The weight added onto your arm, you can do some serious damage even if the shield is made from Aluminum. The straps are adjustable and like said before, its a sort of fake leather material but still feels nice to the touch.This is certainly going to go well with my Captain America cosplay or if you love running around the house and bothering your girlfriend with this shield...better yet...this is a perfect shield for you for when you guys fight and she starts throwing things at you. All around, a great solid purchase!
