Q: I’d like to return these as I went to use them & they aren’t very sticky at all maybe a bad package & I tried a few more & the same thing happened!

Q: Will this work to secure a small ceramic lamp to a wooden riser box?

It would work to hold it in place if its just sitting on top. I would use something else if you need to lift it.

Q: Want to use to secure blotter to drsk. Will this hurt wood or leave residual marks?

I believe it might leave residue. The sticky stuff is clear. I used them on glass jars to adhere ribbon. It took some scrubbing to remove residue from glass

Q: Will these support string lights?

Probably. They hold very tight.
