Great for studio, not for live.
these cymbal stands are inexpensive alternatives to the likes of Mapex, Pearl, Ddrums, etc. they're great for setting up a kit in the studio and letting it sit for longer periods of time. However, the bottom hinge, near the bottom of the shaft tends to get loose, and the stand tends to wobble a bit. I've had these for a little over a year, though, and they started to do this about 6 months ago. Yes, they're double braces and made of solid steel, but if you're looking for something durable, you may be better off to look elsewhere. If you do decide to get them, I'd suggest steering clear of mounting heavy cymbals (2000 grams or more, like heavy rides, etc), and sticking with splashes, crashes, Chinas and thin rides. Just be careful, and make an informed decision. Construction wise, these are well made, so no worries there.

Great for the price!
I'm no pro or anything, actually, I have a sort of crappy drum set. When I added this stand my set just felt more valuable. It looks good and performs well. If the feet aren't put out far enough the stand can be a little wobbly since there is not counter-balance on the end of the boom, but with my 18" crash on it it doesn't wobble while playing. One thing I would say is a definate minus in my opinion (but no reason to not buy the stand) is the cymbal sleeve/felts. They didn't really match up well. I thought the felts were a little too tall for the sleeve and when my crash is moving it might slip off the sleeve. So I used one of my own felts that were a little smaller.I was worried when I recieved it that they didn't actually send me the correct product, since I had seen other problems with that in the product reviews. But then I quickly noticed the actual boom part is in part of the straight cymbal extenders. Maybe they didn't figure that out and figured they got the wrong product?

Good CHEAP stand
I got this stand because I didn't want to spend a whole lot. The first day I got it, the tip of it (the whole piece where the cymbal goes on) came loose and fell off. It ended up being that the tiny pin that holds it in came out and I am so lucky I found it. When I put it back in and pushed it in as far as it went, i put tape around it so it wouldn't happen again but now the tip wiggles a little bit. It doesn't wiggle enough for me to worry about it falling off again though. Ever since that, this stand has been great and I have had no problems of it collapsing or tipping over or nothing.

Hisonic boom cymbal stand
This Hisonic double duty boom arm cymbal stand arrived super quickly since it was fulfilled by Amazon.Unfortunately, when our older son put it together to set up his new Piaste China Crash Cymbal, the stand wouldn'tStand up straight. He didn't think it was a problem with the stands in general, but that he might have gotten one that was just a little askew. We contacted Amazon and they sent us a mailing label to ship the stand back with. We sent it back, out acct was immediately credited with no problems. We were really satisfied with that process - we always have been with Amazon.I will leave the recommendations to others since we had to return our stand.

Bad Chrome
It is in all aspects a functioning stand, but it does have some problems with the chrome finish. As soon as I took it out of the packaging I noticed the chrome on the top joint was starting to flake off at the bottom, and was cracked throughout the section. Everything else to do with it was very good, it's just that I couldn't find any other way to contact someone about the finish.

Almost 5 stars for the price
Just great for the priceA medium to almost heavy duty standI support a set of 6" & 8" timbalitos with a horizontal bracket attached to the vertical base, and a 16" medium weight cymbal on the boom.It is lose where the cymbal boom rod connects to the adjustable cymbal mount. This is my 3rd Hisonic 7167 and they all show up lose. I fixed them with "Loctite" and a small hex wrench.

A little disappointed... But overall happy with the purchase.
Everything is good with it, it works well.I received this today, and as I took it out of the package, I noticed there was a piece that broke at the bottom. As you open the legs, the center pole just falls right though. It's all fine though, I fixed it myself by using a screw and a nut to tighten it, but I'm disappointed I had to do so. I've posted some pictures of the broken piece.

Good price, marginal quality
The first stand shipped to me arrived broken in two separate sections due to the lower end quality of the rivets. The seller sent me a replacement stand, but the manner in which the ratcheting top is affixed to the body of the boom leaves something to be desired. It is a little on the "loose" side. I would recommend spending a few more dollars for a name brand stand.
