Coxinga and the Fall of the Ming Dynasty Paperback – Import, 23 June 2005

Really enjoyed this detailed account of the Zheng family and in particular their interactions with the European colonists. The history of the Dutch East India Company in the region and Fort Zeelandia was especially interesting to me and I'm glad that I read this book before I visited Taiwan - and the old fort itself in Tainan.You probably have to have an interest in Chinese history and/or European colonial history for this to be for you, but if you have time for either it's well worth a look.

Very unusual. Had little idea of this period. Excellent book
