Ferretts Iron Tablets came highly recommended by my OB when I was dealing with low iron levels. I couldn't find them in my local store, so I was grateful to find them on Amazon. Was the only iron I could absorb, now nothing. My nails are peeling like paper, hair is falling out, and I'm about to have another iron infusion and I had gotten off them when I finally found this supplement that I could absorb. I even bought directly from the website and they're worthless. I guess I need to source yet another ferrous fumerate supplier and just take however many lower dose pills it takes to make up the difference. Desperately unhappy about this.

I have a love/ hate relationship with this supplement. It was specifically recommended to me by my Dr for my low ferritin levels. And it has seemed to be effective at increasing them. But the last time I ordered they had changed the product and the tablets are no longer coated. This makes them a little harder to swallow and very messy, as the chalky powder stays on your hands and can stain fabrics.

By lab testing, this raised my iron levels. For this particular TYPE of iron supplement, this seems to be the best price. Although oval, it's overall size is about the same as an ibuprofen tablet. I had no problem swallowing it at all. No discernible taste. You MAY have more options (including price) if it is not necessary for you to have Ferrous FUMARATE. If it IS important, pay attention to the second word. All iron supplements are not of the FUMARATE variety. Taking this supplement got my hemoglobin count up high enough to begin donating platelets at the Red Cross again. I'll buy more in the future.

Unlike other iron tablets I have taken, this one does not bother my stomach.
