What size drill bit should I use?

I didn't use a drill just screwed it into the ceiling.

What drill size is needed?

First I must admit that I'm kinda a klutz hen it comes to DYI projects. Also I have visual difficulties. What I do is hold up the end of the hook & compare it to my drill bits. The drill bit should have be a little smaller in diameter than the thread of the hook. Then I drill a hole. The hook twists in easily.

These were surprisingly easy to screw in my ceiling with out a drill. They stay in, but can be removed with a pull. Any tips?

You can remove this by turning in the opposite direction. It’s really easy.

Will the white vinyl remain white over time witg exposure to the elements if used outdoors?

Do not know. Mine are used only indoors. If left outdoors, they may loose their shine over time, but it may not be noticeable and may be able to be cleaned without too much effort. Given the price, buy a pack and experiment.
