Excellent quality
Most butane stoves for sale are “White Market” stoves. Iwatani stoves are not. They cost 💲 more yes, but they are extremely well made and durable. Four Winds owns both Iwatani and Primus. They produce fine outdoor/indoor lines with their own accessories and parts. I currently own two 2️⃣ of these stoves for household backups and camping. For a butane stove, they are Heavy Duty. Typical of most Japanese camping gear. Personally I’d rather cry once at purchase and have it last, than not be able to get parts.

Great little stove, updated Feb 27, 2025
Great little stove for two reasons. One, it's small and arrives in a very functional case. Two, it's fuel efficient.OK, that's the good stuff. Not so great for two reasons. One, the case is too small to carry fuel for the stove. I guess if you live in Japan the proper sized canisters are available, but in the U.S.? Nope. Two, that feul efficiency comes at a cost in BTU output. This little guy is designed for little tasks. You know, like the Little Engine That Could? It's comparable to the small burner on a stovetop. If these parameters meet you needs, this stove is Highly Recommended.3/2/25 UpdateAll my camping stoves have the ability to run on Butane or Propane fuels through the use of screw on adapter hoses. This stove has no such option meaning I was stuck using expensive Butane cartridges during the warmer seasons when cheaper Propane works fine and the stove is basically useless once the temps dip below freezing. Well, Amazon actually carries the answer. The Campingmoon adapter for their Z59-CB stove (ASIN B0BZRW2JR9) not only solves the problem, but can be left attached and folded into the canister bay for instant hookups. Not cheap at $32, but with the fuel cost savings (especially if you use refillable 1 lb Propane cylinders or hook up to a 20 lb tank) it will eventually pay for itself. You'll also get longer burn time and a four season stove.. Just a thought to pass on.

Love this little camping stove, small and mostly wind proof.
Got this little Iwatani camping burner for our new 1971 VW camper bus. It is so helpful to have the wind guard built in to keep the flame on the bottom of your cookware. It is pretty tiny and cute, if I say so myself. We also like the darker army green color too, sort of matches our Westy’s green color as well. The on/off knob is big and chunky, and it has a nice resounding click when you try to light the flame. Also love the plastic carrying case, which can be used as some extra wind protection if you prop it up around the stove. If you have the regular sized butane can it will stick out a bit from the burner. But they do make a mini version if you want be able to carry it with the burner inside the carrying case. One downside, since it is a mini burner, it doesn’t quite put out the same BTU’s as a full sized Iwatani burner. But still Made in Japan and also has a removable wind deflector, just in case you wan to save weight or don’t want/need to use it.
