Pretty good material and she's *still* a bombshell!
This album is only superior to The Heat. And maybe it's on par with Secrets but Toni Braxton and More Than a Woman are far superior (especially the latter which got slaughtered on the charts and in people's minds; they expected more I suppose). Toni's low contralto has always sent me places. When she first stepped out on the scene she was vulnerable longing had some love issues but wasn't afraid to sing about love - losing it gaining it obsessing over it. Back in the early 90s she made us feel it! Teamed up with Babyface she was a force to be reckoned with. And since then she's been releasing solid CD after solid CD; some of it with a little bit of filler but enjoyable nonetheless. But we're here to talk about her latest release Libra so let's do that shall we?This is a 10 song journey that is over soon after you blink your eyes a couple of times. The 10 tracks are similar in fashion to her old school hits: Potential hits, slept on tracks and some filler. Libra is no exception:1. Please -- Good choice of a second single. I applaud her because in her video she wears her hair short and sexy and I've always loved that in her. Contemporary hit that was slept on. 4 stars.=^_^= Dri =^_^=2. Trippin' (That's the Way Love Works) -- Nice. Contemporary. Relate-able. 4.25 stars.=^_^= Dri =^_^=3. What's Good -- Great mid-tempo. Samples a 2Pac song. I just found out that it's his Dear Momma. 5 stars.=^_^= Dri =^_^=4. Take This Ring -- I LOVE this song. Rich Harrison who caters to Amerie mostly produced this. Truly gets a party started!! The drums are mean and back beat; crazy! Another slept on potential hit. 5.25 stars.=^_^= Dri =^_^=5. Midnite -- A catchy, mid-tempo ladies' anthem. Low trade-mark contralto. 4.25 stars.=^_^= Dri =^_^=6. I Wanna Be (Your Baby) -- Sappy yet better than I thought. 3 stars.=^_^= Dri =^_^=7. Sposed to Be -- Features a hip-hop beat. Another mid-tempo. This album is full of them, which in my opinion is good. Don't wanna overdo it with too many slow tracks. Not that memorable but huge compared to I Wanna Be. 3.75 stars.=^_^= Dri =^_^=8. Stupid -- Jazzy, and a nice change of pace from Toni. Slept on. Should've been a single! 4.75 stars.=^_^= Dri =^_^=9. Finally -- Eh... 3.25 stars.=^_^= Dri =^_^=10. Shadowless -- "I'm running down the streets, trying to find the answers..." Yeah, right. Like I believe that one, you silly, silly girl." LOLZ Good song otherwise. 4 stars.=^_^= Dri =^_^=41.25/10 = 4.1254.13 stars. She is in need of Babyface again to return to the hit-making factory we used to hear her churn them pleasant, radio-friendly songs from. Will she be a smart girl next time? Will she continue to write (or co-write) her tracks? We must wish on our lucky stars, and keep those fingers crossed!Cover Art: A++Songwriting: B-Vocals: B-Vocal Acrobatics: C+Production: ALength: B4.13 stars.Overall: B-Download: Take This Ring, What's Good, Stupid and Trippin'.

Inaccurate listing
Item was listed as Used Very Good. Hardly. The case was shattered and the disc had scratches. It played ok but I do not thing it was listed for the condition I received.

IT'S THIS IMPORT EDTION YOU WANT TO GET THAT HAS 4 (FOUR) SUPERIOR BONUS TRACKS THAT'S NOT ON THE U.S. EDITION
I made the mistake in buying the 2005 U.S. Edition sometime ago, now don't get me wrong the U.S. Edition is still a good album album with Key Tracks: "Please", "Take This Ring" and "Shadowless", but a year later the "Libra" album was released in the U.K. that boosted 4 (Four) Bonus Tracks! "Suddenly", "I Hate You", "Long Way Home" and "The Time Of Our Lives" featuring II Divo. Surprisingly these Bonus Tracks took a good album and made it Great!!! Old die- hard fans who got hooked on Toni back in the day will really apreciate hearing these Bonus Tracks. You must understand Toni Braxton is moving in a different direction (Musically) on this album...Changed is good! On this Expanded Edition she makes EVERYBODY HAPPY! Who would ever think 4 (Four) songs could make a difference?

THE ORIGINAL TONI BRAXTON IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Toni Braxton has always been one of my favorite female artists of all time. She has now made it to her fifth album which is a good thing because some artist doesn't even make it to their sophomore album. The style of music on this album is a lot similar to her self titled debut album. She's gone back to her original sound which is a good thing. One thing that I noticed is there are no hip-hop songs or quest rappers on this album. Toni stuck to her original sound. This album is a great buy for all the Toni Braxton fans but I'm worried about the record sales. In the industry today, most CD purchases are by teenagers and young adults. They are into artist today like Usher, Beyonce, Fifty Cent, Lil Jon, T.I., Ciara, Ludacris and Bow Wow. Her fans will surely buy this album but it's all about the promotion behind it. I honestly feel that this album is not being promoted well. I would call this Toni's comeback album but the promotion behind it sucks. Overall, LIBRA is a great album and it would be a shame if it doesn't sell.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
I originally bought the U.S. version of Libra three years ago when it came out and fell in love with it instantly. It's Toni's best album since Secrets, but didn't do well domestically because of label issues between Toni and Blackground. I recommend this version because of the bonus songs not on the domestic release. Suddenly is probably one of the most beautiful songs you'll ever hear and by far one of Toni's best, It is written and arranged by Richard Marx so of course it is good. Long way home is very romantic slow song with a little upbeat to it. All in all very good album, probably Toni's best by far. I miss Toni and hope she is putting out something new soon.

She's On Fiiiire & Definately Hasn't Lost It
Ive never really been much of a Toni Braxton fan...until now that is because this album is definately smokin'. With her husky voice and smooth lyrics shes definately on to a winner here and for me has to be my fave r&b album of the year so far.Another thing that makes this album so lovable is that there just isnt any bad tracks - the whole is off the chain and there hasnt been many albums recently i can say that about. If you buy just one T.B. album you have to make it this one without doubt.
