03-SCT2200-02 Cruiser/Sport Class Trike 2200 Trailer

Like the trailer, but received a Certificate of Origin but no bill of sale or anything with my name on it so that I can register the trailer. There is no point of contact or phone number. My order number is 114-09046490-7782657. What do I do?????

This is a very high quality motorcycle carrier. The Trike unit can be used for a Trike, single motorcycle or a quad. The trailer comes on a huge, 4'x8' pallet, fully assembled, standing (7 feet) upright. The packing weight is probably in excess of 700 pounds. It could be problem for home delivery. I would suggest picking up your unit at the shipper and asking for them for help getting it off the pallet, it needs a forklift or pallet jack.The unit comes with the wheel chock and guide rails that need to be installed. No tongue jack or spare tire, however the tongue jack mount and spare tire mount are welded on. The jack and spare are available from Amazon.Review of this trailer revealed a quality build with heavy duty components. The fit and finish are great. I would gladly buy this unit again. I would recommend it to others.About the Certificate of Origin. It does not ship with the trailer for security reasons. The seller, in this case PartUSA is responsible for supplying the Certificate from the manufacturer. I reached out to the seller, PartUSA. After some minor problems, which they resolved, I received my Certificate of Origin in about 10 days. PartUSA was very responsive to my e-mails, a shoutout to PartUSA.I can't quite say the same for Drop Trail Trailers. They were nice enough on the telephone and answered my questions, however they don't respond to e-mails, which is disheartening because they truly do produce a very high quality and functional trailer. If you can get past the minor hassles, you won't be sorry for your purchase.UP-DATE:I returned from Alaska in June 2017, 9200 miles and two months on the road.Only a few hundred miles out from base, while still in California, on relatively good roads, I had a partial failure of the electrical system. The left tail, running, signal and brake lights stopped working. No obvious signs of where the problem was. I was unable to chase the problem, because the manufacturer pop riveted the aluminum covers, on the fenders, denying easy access to the wiring. Screws would have been better. I chose not to make immediate repairs.Upon returning from Alaska, just after entering the U.S. I had a similar failure to the right side, running, tail and brake lights. For the remainder of my trip, I had no running, signal or brake lights on my Drop-Tail trailer.When I returned home, I dismantled both left and right rear fenders to gain access to the wiring. It was necessary to drill out the pop rivets, 24 in all. I discovered the fenders were not a sealed unit and allowed dust and water to enter the cavity where the wiring was. The fittings were corroded and pulled apart on both sides from what appears to be road action (bouncing). I discovered very shoddy workmanship on the wiring, which required me to completely rewire all the fittings on both sides.I checked for road damage. Overall, considering the terrible roads in Canada and Alaska the trailer did relatively well. Some cosmetic issues with the paint, nothing that can't be fixed. The suspension held up well considering the trailer, with my trike, went air-borne numerous times during the trip. The hydraulic lift ramp worked well and never failed, however my trike is low and long, causing it to drag the undercarriage on the diamond plate. Care should be taken when ordering this trike trailer to make sure your trike is not to long. I have a Goldwing, Champion conversion and the trike barely fits on the trailer.Although this is a trike specific trailer, which can be used for regular cycle transport, I found it difficult to tie down the rear of my trike. Rear, wheel specific tie down points should be placed, recessed, in the diamond plate, directly below the wheels for support. This would prevent the trike from becoming air-borne. Using the outside frame tie down points will spread and damage the rear wheels. The front tie down chock was fantastic. I used straps to attach the wheel to the chock, never moved or had to be reset during my entire trip.In closing, I was very disappointed in the shoddy workmanship on the electrics, however if you are handy this and other issues can be overcome.Some may ask why I didn't use the warranty, near to impossible to get ahold of someone at Drop-tail and it was easier to just do the work myself, that way I know it is done right.Knowing what I know now, I would probably not purchase a Drop-tail trailer and look elseware for a trailer to serve my purposes. Don't get me wrong, this is a good trailer but it could be better and it does have issues.

Beautiful trailer, but comes with no bill of sale or manufacturers certificate of origin which I need to register and license... No seller contact info. Hope the paperwork comes in the mail. Wasted 3 hrs today at dmv and tsi registration with no success... Bummer!

My hydronic pump handle shaft broke on my droptail trailer and I can’t find anywhere to replace it.
