Very pleased with this phone. Very quick at loading apps and very responsive. Fingerprint reader I've found works perfectly. Has a headphone socket and SD card slot which many of the new phones that come out these days don't have. Having those was important to me. Already comes with 256GB . The 360 stereo surround sound from the actual phone speakers is unbelievably good when playing music or watching something on netflix, Disney + ect. Very respectable loudness from the phone speakers which was not so good on my old Sony, this one is much better. Battery life isn't to bad easily lasting a day. I'm still left with over 40% charge after a day of general use. The screen ratio is different to other big screen phones. Which makes the phone look tall and thinner. I actually prefer this, as it fits in to my pocket easier and is perfect for viewing films the way they're ment to be viewed. This phone is a joy to use. It feels premium quality. Very happy with this purchase 😁

My last three phones have all been Sony Xperia: Z; 10 Plus; 1 (iii); I remain as impressed with my device today (more so even) as I was with my other devices during the previous 12 years.The camera is second to none, as is the camcorder (I know, right?) and the battery lasts a full day, and then some.I have nothing but positives to report when discussing this phone, and I heartily recommend it.Also, given the phone's high price tag, for those who qualify, Amazon offers a reasonable payment plan with monthly installments. Brilliant looking phone. Hardware exceptional. Sound system unmatched. Display unbeatable.All let down by the inability to link this phone to your PC through USB cable using windows explorer to drive the process. Insists you use an App to achieve link and then only allows you to transfer photos. No provision for transferring files, documents or music files. Device doesn't support WIFI calling. Nearly £1200 pounds to get a phone that is worse than the phone it was to replace. This is meant to be a flagship device. So close but in truth functionally so far from that mark it's a tragedy.Whilst the transfer of files apps and data from my old phone was easy, it's the transfer of files and music in the future that''s proven to be the deal breaker for me personally. Major fault with the latest Android system. Case of progress that just hampers the device's usability. Shame as this could have been a great phone.

Had to send it back because it appeared to me that the battery was draining too fast and it comes with Facebook preinstalled and I don't think you can delete it.On the plus side, it comes with a powerful processor (Qualcomm) and it didn't lag when I asked it to do somethingI like Sony phones and had one in the past but sent it back because I think it was too expensive for what i had in my hand!Sony, drop the price and I might reconsider buying it :-)UPDATEIt went down in price to £999 so I bought it!Now I've had it longer ( a week) I will say a few more things!The all important battery -I lasts longer than I previously thought, normal usage ( one or two 20 min calls, email reading, general internet browsing and it lasted most of the day)I charge it overnight on slow charge ( I believe it makes the battery have a longer life)The camera - it gives a true image of the subject, not bright or vibrant or artificial, if you want you can do all the enhancement later, so the camera is good, especially the telephoto, with a bit of cropping it gives a good close up!The fingerprint sensor is super fast but just choose your phone cover carefully as it can inhibit the finger on the sensor!The speed - it's fast, yes it is indeed, whether it's 5G or 4G the phone reacts quick!The phone is long and sticks slightly out of normal size pockets but hey, when watching a video on YouTube, that bigness is brilliant!The speakers are true to life, absolutely great audio whether music or a caller's voice!I can't find facial security lock ( I don't think it has it actually) which is a pity!It's a Sony, they have a good history of tech!UPDATEI sent the phone back because the fingerprint sensor soon became grubby with daily usage and lessened its sensor ability which then made some Apps refuse to open!

One star reviewer because of lack of WiFi calling and data transfer between Windows os and Google Android os. Transferred data from HP pavilion to the phone no issues and WiFi calling with WhatsApp messenger with no issues. Screen is brilliant and definitely brighter than the 1ii which I also have. Purchased two of these phones for myself and wife gave the 1ii to our older children. This is a great phone I use mine for many purposes 12gb ram sufficient for multi tasking awesome portable music player, gaming great. Sat nav on my motorcycle no issues with vibration Harley Davidson with ram mount bracket. Dislikes phone very slippery I always use rugged cases for my phone's and gell case but if you don't definitely invest in one. Phone charges great on the wireless charging dock with the gell case on the phone. Not much bloat wear on the phone very minimal and very easy to configure with the settings app. Sim card slot easy to use, headphone socket, expansion memory with the sim card tray, fast charger included yes that is correct you get the charger with the phone. Accessories I purchased tempered glass screen protector, rugged and gell case, wireless charging dock-pad. The Xperia 1iii is a brilliant bit of kit it's used for sat nav on motorcycle, photos, music player via motorcycle intercom system,naim ups multi room music, Gmail, YouTube, video calls,sms and phone calls. Indoor, outdoor activities Sony Xperia 1iii brilliant device.
