Interesting and Delicious
I live in Chicago. I really like food. I've been going on a pretty heavy instant noodle bender after I got sick of paying $20 for a bowl of fancy ramen at any of the 200 new noodle joints that have opened up in my city over the pat 3 years. Found the Ramen Rater website, blah blah you know the rest.WOAH. Few things to note. These are dry style/no broth. You get a chili oil/dried shrimp sauce packet and a fried shallot(!!) packet. Put them together in a bowl, strain the water out of the freshly boiled noodles(which are of the same high quality that you would expect from MyKuali), and then add the hot noodles to the bowl. Stir and enjoy.I'm not a noob to this sort or noodle but damn are these some intense flavors. Right up front there's a smack of chili oil, followed with sesame oil, dried shrimp*, fried sweet onion, and hoisin. Not as spicy as I would have thought, but it's a different spice. It's that deep, low, long spice that chili oil is so great in providing. If you are not turned on by new flavors, stay away from these. If you are however, order them right now. These noodles are begging for other foods to be added. I'm going to fry up some pork loin, add a poached egg, and slice up some radishes the next time I make these.Very recommended for an intense, interesting flavor that going to ultimately make you a more interesting cook in the kitchen. Not recommended as a stand alone snack or meal.-Parker*on the package is states that it's made with dried shrimp. Upon first inspection there was none, but as the chili paste broke down it became clear that there were chunks of dried shrimp in the chili paste. If that last sentence bums you out, don't get these.

Not what I expected from MyKuali, but maybe I'm not enjoying it correctly!?

Stay away, go with the White Curry or Spicy Prawn.
Really a poor product. It's hard to believe that the same company that makes the wonderful Ramen Rater top ten approved Spicy Prawn and White Curry varieties makes this so called Spicy Fried Noodle Ramen. There is nothing spicy about it. The spice paste has little flavor. What flavor it has is boardering on disgusting and it takes a huge effort to just get it dissolved in the boiling water. I added some Tom Yum paste and Sirracha, nothing could save it. The fried Onion packet is the only redeeming quality. Do yourself a favor and buy the White Curry by My Kuali, first rate. The Spicy Prawn isn't far behind if you are ok with a strong Prawn flavor / smell.
