I bought this to replace the case on my Jetta’s key fob as the panic button on the side had long since gone on both my original key sets. I was more worried about dirt or pocket lint getting into the fob causing a malfunction that anything else. Replacements through VW? Didn’t even bother looking… If you take care to make sure that you are choosing the one that matches what you have, this works perfectly. If you don’t, then don’t complain about it not fitting as others have done in previous reviews. There are different types, and it is a little fiddly taking the old one apart and removing the circuit board. Breaking it is a real possibility. But do it right and this case is as good as the original.

This key is perfect exact replica and I just moved all the internals and it works like a charm!!!

Not too hard to switch honestly. Just watch a couple YouTube videos to know what you're doing. Thankfully I didn't have to mess with the key part with the RFID chip (that thing that looks like a pill and I guess is really essential for your car to start lol). So just replacing the button bottom part is pretty easy, took me like ten minutes maybe just use a flathead screwdriver. Does fit a bit snug though with old top part but works fine
