Beautifully Done Bible
This Bible exceeded my expectations by a mile! There are so many references to C. S. Lewis's work, from many different sources. The gold details on every page are beautiful. The NRSV translation isn't my favorite, but it is what the Anglican church uses, so it definitely makes sense for a C. S. Lewis Bible and as I've been reading it, it's really grown on me. Highly recommend this Bible to any C. S. Lewis fans!

You only need one Bible--This one
Along with C.S. Lewis' many brilliant and memorable quotes taken from a wide range of his writings, this Bible is beautifully laid out. The NRSV is the best translation available. The uplifting introduction to each book and highlighted sections within the various books makes one want to keep reading.Even if you've read the Bible several times, you'll not want to put down this book.

Lewis are wonderful and I'll be transferring them into my KJV Bible
The book is lovely. The quotes from C.S. Lewis are wonderful and I'll be transferring them into my KJV Bible. The reason I gave this two stars is the translation. This is my first experience with the NRSV. The dust cover reads: "...recognized in scholarly circles as the most accurate translation into English of the original Hebrew and Greek texts." I was really excited about that. However, any good in the translation is lost on account of the severe gender-inclusive slant of the translators.Matthew 7 is a perfect example of this.In the King James Version it reads in verses 9-11:Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?"Compared to the NRSV which translates the same lines like this:"Is there anyone among you who, if your child asks for bread, will give a stone? Or if the child asks for a fish, will give a snake? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!"Considering that this passage is talking about the fatherhood nature of God, why was this changed? So that it applies equally to women? As a woman I already knew it applied equally to me.Psalm 8 is another perfect example. This is the King James:What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?Compared to the NRSV:...what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them? The translators have sacrificed beautiful language and turned it to something to trip over when reading. If inclusive language appeals to you, you may find this an excellent translation. For now I'll be sticking with the KJV and the Amplified. Although I am still interested in the best possible translation of the original Hebrew and Greek, so perhaps I'll have to check out the Revised Standard Version, the predecessor to this book.

Beautiful way to spend some quiet time
Beautiful Bible with excerpts of CS Lewis applied throughout. The input of CS Lewis has helped me to better understand the context of certain verses and gives me a new perspective of things. It's been a great way to see the Bible in a new light, while not straying away at all from the Word. The CS Lewis enhances, doesn't distract.

I genuinely love it and highly recommend it!
This is a first rate Bible, I genuinely love it and highly recommend it. It has succeeded in its mission (to me) to "help the reader interact more with Scripture", In short, it's uses an NRSV translation (my preference and highly reliable/readable/accurate), has a beautiful genuine leather cover which is a deep rich brown, a very nice size that lays perfectly in your lap or reading surface and insights from Lewis are spread throughout the text which amplify the Scripture rather than crowd it out like many study bibles I've used. I have been a Christian for over 15 years, I recommend this Bible highly, as you consistently use it, it will fuel your spiritual growth in Christ as your mind is transformed.

This Bible is read daily!
We bought this Bible as a gift to a friend of ours who owns so many C.S. Lewis books and loves his writings. It was THE perfect gift, as he doesn't want to put it down. Each chapter has a commentary from Lewis, which he enjoys so much. He thanks us every time he sees us and says it was the best gift ever.

Insightful, not preachy.
I’m not a biblical scholar and don’t always know what all the parables really mean. Great to have Lewis’s insights interspersed within the standard verses.I find them interesting perspectives rather than preachy.

Bible plus
I was delighted to get this on Kindle - at a very reasonable price. It has the full text of the NRSV, plus some wonderful excerpts from the work of C.S.Lewis. Navigation is not the easiest and I haven't fathomed how to access particular quotes from Lewis, perhaps this is not possible. It has actually further piqued my interest in his work, some of which I have already read - I think I may look more into his books. But for the text itself - the NRSV is the 'official' version of our church - it's well worth having.

Easy to understand translation of the bible
Easy to understand translation of the bible, and what makes it even more interesting are the excerpts from C S Lewis's books. They help to give an understanding, of what would otherwise be difficult to understand passages from the bible. Nothing taken away or added to the bible, but C S Lewis uses his great mind and down to earth understanding of the human condition to enhance the bible. I would highly recommend this version of the bible to anyone who wants to learn a little more about the human condition, in a non preachy way.

Pleasant read, apposite notes, How can you go ...
Pleasant read, apposite notes,How can you go without it when the price is so reasonable?I would have preferred the UK English spelling of the NRSV but that's a very small but.
