It does require a BATTERY !
It actually does use a battery. It’s sealed inside the unit. In a couple of years it will be dead and of no use because the battery can’t be changed. It works fine until the battery dies, then it’s garbage.

Great Customer Service!
Edit:Great customer service! My original meter had a problem, but seller kosiwun got in touch with me right away to set things right. Just received the new meter last night. I appreciate someone who stands by their product and makes sure the customer is pleased.Bottom line - I would not hesitate to buy again.Original:I got 1 1/2 years of light use out of it before (presumably) the battery died. A bit less than claimed in the description. Other than that, it was easy to install and worked fine.Has anyone tried to grind through the epoxy to replace the battery?

Great product. NO way to replace the battery even though the description indicates lifetime service. I guess that means the lifetime of the meter!Cheap enough to throw away when the time comes.

The price
I didn't get to use it. When I received it parts were missing. I sent it back for a refund. I think it would of worked for my boat.

Works as expected
Relatively easy to install and works well. I would suggest a small piece of velcro or double sided tape to be included in the package.

Very easy to instal on my Westinghouse igen2500
Very easy to instal on my Westinghouse igen2500, I'll be getting another for a 2nd generator. Just wrap the wire around the spark plug wire ensuring the wired doesn't touch the engine and figure out placement of the meter, I used Velcro tape on the top of the case and routed the wire thru the access panel, cut the wire to size and it's perfect

Decent for the price.
Simple install, works just as it should.However, after 2 or 3 washes, it went off for a few days and reset. Not very waterproof, even thought it is advertised to be.

Easy to install, works, takes the guess work out of engine maintenance.
I put this on my lawn mower for determining maintenance intervals. It was easy to install, I used the included screws, right on the top of the engine. I cut the wire to fit and it works. cool
