Microwavable Heating Pad for Back to Alleviate Pain, Extra Large Microwave Heated Pack with Moist Heat for Waist, Stomach, and Shoulder, Unscented Hot or Cold Pack, Gray

I have suffered with an L5 prolapse disc for years. Whenever the back gets worse for whatever reason, I try and add a heat pack for during the day at work or if I am going out - particularly in this cold weather. I also have early onset of arthritis and get stiff joints/back/hips (I am only 55) in this damp so add heat again where possible. Up until now, I have always gone for the packs that stick either end that have magnets in them that heat up. These were fab as got really hot and lasted for hours. All day and through the night. Although they were expensive, they worked. For some reason - I can't seem to find them anywhere? I can find the pads without the magnet pieces but I don't find they work well at all and can easily come off. This was a bit of a punt as I have had a strap/Heated pad before that didn't work that well. This works really well! It has some weight to it - but actually for some reason this is part of why it feels like its working. I heated the pad in the microwave for 2 minutes. 900w micro. It stays hot for about 1.5 - 2 hours. Once that initial heat has dies down - the weight and the material combined keeps that area warm too. The material covering the pad area is lovely and soft. It is a very comfortable shape for the lower back - which previously I have struggled to cover. The strap will go around a bigger person and the extension strap allows you to put it over clothes if you prefer to wear it on the outside. I would suggest a layer on the inside as the velcro straps and the extension can catch and be a bit scratchy if worn directly on the skin. Overall it is really comfortable. In fact I kind of forgot I was wearing it for most of the day at work today. My work involves multiple trips a day so I am in and out of the car. This did not budge until I took it off. Super pleased with this purchase and it has really helped when I went out one evening which meant standing around in the cold for some time. It just helped keep me warm the whole evening and definately made a difference to the stiffness I would have got, if I had gone out without it. Saving money too as reusable. Perfect Amazon purchase!

Good design: gently hugs lower back she’s gently stays in place with wide soft padded Velcro band. Secure and comfortable enough to walk around or lie down without needing to re position it. Moulds to body shape to remain in close contact with all areas for optimal soothing pain relief. Ideal for pain from slipped discs, trapped nerve roots, period pain, muscle spasms. (Yes I suffer all of those!) This is the best heat pain relieving device I’ve ever tried. Better than the electric ones that don’t closely contour the body. The heated grains and seeds stay evenly spread across the pad thanks to the separate chambers. Retains heat for at least half an hour and reheats in microwave in three minutes. Super soft fabric. Only negative is the cover does not remove for washing but is soo great in other respects I’ll put up with that and just ensure to only heat it on a very clean microwave and only wear over clean clothes.

Nice quality material, heats up quickly in the microwave and the Velcro strap stays in place however it doesn’t seem to stay as hot for long like some others I’ve had

Absolutely delighted with this !! Super easy to use and actually does the job of heating your back and staying secure so you can move about . I have L4/5 issues & I find this does help along with my medication. Obviously it’s not going to make you be able to do cart wheels if you have a bad back , but it does offer some decent relief..

Heat doesn't stay fir long. Goes cold really quick. Returned item after few days. Uselesss

Microwavable heating pad, is good warms all the area it covers and relieves pain.

I bought this bc I suffer with chronic pain due to having Crohn’s, I’ve been using hot water bottles and warmies to ease the pain in my back and sides. So when I found this I thought it would be perfect as I wouldn’t need to use my little hot water belt and warmies anymore…. I liked that the size was much bigger and it wraps around your sides so it’s a two in one for me. The Velcro is also much stronger than the little hot water belt you get for period pains. Now onto the pros and cons, for me this is ideal to cover my lower back and sides, personally I don’t need the extended belt but it makes it versatile for my dad to use is he needs it for his back ect. I like the ribbed effect with the beads inside as it spreads the heat further and covers more surface area on my back. The one thing I’d say was I thought it would retain heat better, i put it in my carousel microwave for a minute and a half and then flip it and put it on for another 30 seconds. There’s no scent to it so it doesn’t make my microwave smell of burnt toast (which some of my very well used warmies do 🙈) even when I take it out and it’s piping hot to the touch it still only stays that hot for about 30 minutes and I find myself putting it back in the microwave after an hour. Which is fine! The pros out way the cons!! But I wanted to give an honest review, I know some people are saying the heat retention is great! And for some people 30 ‘minutes at peak heat may be good enough!!! Just for other chronic pain folks out there I’d just like to say you do need to reheat quite often!

I loved this so much for my lower back pain after an auto accident that I bought additional ones for family members with back pain. The material is soft and holds heat very well. This has made life a little easier to have heat on and moving around the house at the same time.

I was having so much back and neck pain at the time that I actually bought TWO microwave heating pads -- this one, and one that was specifically designed for a sore neck. It was the inspiration of desperation. You know what? I should have just bought this one because it does everything. It's shaped so that you can use it for your back, your neck, your shoulder, your knee -- anything. And its velcro strap holds it in place. And the weight of it makes it sink into all the aching crevices your regular electric heating pad can't reach. I read reviews that say the heat doesn't last last long, and that's both true and not true: the microwave heat dissipates, but it holds in the heat of your body, so that it's actually warm enough to do the job as long as you want. Your body will always generate heat and this heating pad will always hold it in. I love it; I've been recommending it to all my friends. I recommend it to you!

This is a fantastic heat pack, my husband and I both use when our backs are sore. My husband also uses it on his shoulder. It’s so convenient being able to wrap it around and secure at the front of your waist. It really helps a lot with sore backs and is the best one I have ever used, very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this heat pack!
