Q: Can someone explain the difference between this model and the mini? Dimensions seem to be the same.

We have 3 different models - Classic, Plus, and miniMAX The Classic Gymboss can time 1 interval, or 2 different intervals, and repeat them/cycle through them. Choose this model if you will only need one or two intervals and will be using it indoors. Examples of a perfect use for this model is interval training, a tabata program, or timing rest between sets when weightlifting. This model is easy to set up. The Plus model has the exact same functionality as the Classic model described above, except it has a louder beep and is more water resistant. Choose this one if you will be using it outside. It is perfect for runners, especially those who may be running in the rain or in very humid climates. It is also easy to set up, like the Classic. The miniMAX model allows you to time up to 25 different intervals and repeat individual intervals or groups of intervals within the sequence. The miniMAX also allows you to save up to 20 programs for future use. You cannot save programs with the Classic or Plus models. The miniMAX is for those who do interval programs with many different interval times, such as more advanced HIIT programs. You can do much more with the miniMAX, but it is a bit more complex to set up initially. However, once you "get it" so to speak, you will never have a problem setting it up.

Q: Can it be programmed to go off every hour?

I believe it can be set to go up to 99min for an interval, so i think you can set it to go off every hour if you set both intervals to 60min for how ever many hours (rounds) you want it to go

Q: Which product should i purchase if i want to save multiple intervals? i purchased this gymboss and didn't realize the minimax existed. read about both

If you want to save more than two different intervals, you will need the miniMAX model. With the miniMAX model you can save up to 25 different intervals In a program.

Q: Can the timer be programmed for the galloway method (run-walk-run), say run 1 minute and walk 2 minutes, then repeat?

Hi. Yes, this is the exact same timer. We make the Jeff Galloway timer as well, which is exactly the same as this timer just a different color. This can easily be set for 2:00, 1:00.
