Do these fit a 2017 Silverado 2500HD?

Put mine on a 2017 1500 but they should fit a 2500

Has anybody popped the caps off after being installed for a few months to see if it makes the frame hold water?

These are rust makers. I filo not recommend? Think about it... Why do the vehicle manufactures put frame holes in these locations to begin with? Don't plug them!

Wouldnt they just trap moisture and promote rust and corrosion?

Well these are for GM model vehicles . GM frames are made of steel and will rust no matter what. Sounds crazy but according to gm the black corrosion protection that you see on your frame is only meant to last a year then will wear off. you’ll be fine it covers the holes nice and tight doubt water is getting in from those areas.

Will these stay in? Will heavy road vibration cause them to pop out?

I've had these on my 2007 Silverado 1500 for almost a year now. I've been off road several times since then, and they are just as tight as the day I put them in. They're threaded, and their diameter is just a hair larger than the frame hole. You align them, push them in with a little bit of force, and the threads grab on to the inner part of the tube. After that, you can walk away and forget them.
