The pieces do not align. One leg is 2 inches off the floor and it wobbles. The shelves are built with hinges that allow it to bend inward so even without shoes on it, it looks like it’s sagging in the middle. The wood is brittle and seems like it would chip easily. Honestly there’s nothing I like about this except that it fits in the space that I needed it to and it was inexpensive (I paid $20 which is honestly too much for this junk). If I wasn’t putting it underneath a counter in our mud room, I would return it. I definitely wouldn’t want this anywhere visible in my house.

I ordered a mocha, which would be brown. What was in the box was black and black is not offered. Poorly painted with looks like spray paint. I wanted brown, like pictured. It wobbled at first on my hardwood floor, then I loosed the screws and pushed down some and the wobble went away and tighten the screws back up.It has hinges in the middle of the horizontal pieces so it will fold up and go into the box for shipping. It would have been better with out the hinges and use a longer box. Description says this about the hinge, really does not make any sense. "We change the hinge in the middle to be movable. If the panel is not well aligned at the beginning, you can slightly move it to make it flat."

I can't believe all of the 5-star ratings are real. I got kind of a mess…The first one came with a split in one of the rails—obviously a manufacturing defect which should have been caught. The second looked OK with decent materials. However, one of the top rails had some gummy crap along the top rails (see picture). I cleaned it off and noted that the hinges joining the rails were offset, making it crooked. A “feature” in the product description states “If the panel is not well aligned at the beginning, you can slightly move it to make it flat.” Well OK, I can fix that, too.After it was completely assembled, it rocked badly because the legs are quite uneven (see video). Would twisting it a little work? Nope. Since I had already sent one back and had invested so much time and energy into it, I fastened a short shim on one of the legs to even it up.The price is low, the materials are decent and it looks great once you finally get it right. However, I’m a little tired of fixing offshore-manufactured items that are poorly manufactured.

Unless you zoom in closely on the pic, it's difficult to see that the shelves are hinged to allow compact packaging and shipping. After assembly, you will find it difficult to carry without the shelves folding in on each other. In addition, at the shelf hinge joints, they do not support weight well at all. Unless you are shelving toddler shows, the shelves will sag. Do yourself a favor and pass this one up!

This was a good purchase for the price. Holds our shoes nicely and fits perfect in the space next to our front door. My only complaint would be that each of the shelves is not one solid piece, but 2 pieces hinged together right in the middle of where you’d be putting the shoes. Because of this, the pieces don’t meet up exactly, but so far, it works fine and isn’t sagging or bending. I would definitely avoid putting heavy boots or objects on it though.
