THE ONE. THE ONLY. THE CLASSIC.On a black and unholy Halloween night years ago, little Michael Myers brutally slaughtered his sister in cold blood. For the last fifteen years, the people of Haddonfield have rested easily, knowing that Michael was safely locked away in a mental hospital ... until tonight. Michael has escaped and he will soon return to the same quiet neighborhood to relive his grisly murder again. For this is a night of evil. Tonight is Halloween.DISC ONE (4K UHD):NEW 2021 4K Scan From The Original Negative, Approved By Cinematographer Dean CundeyNEW Dolby Atmos TrackAudio Commentary With Co-Writer/Director John Carpenter And Actress Jamie Lee CurtisAudio Commentary With Director Of Photography Dean Cundey, Editor Tommy Lee Wallace, And Actor Nick CastleDISC TWO (Blu-ray):NEW 2021 4K Scan From The Original Negative, Approved By Cinematographer Dean CundeyNEW Dolby Atmos TrackAudio Commentary With John Carpenter And Jamie Lee CurtisAudio Commentary With Dean Cundey, Tommy Lee Wallace, And Nick Castle“The Night She Came Home”TV Version FootageTheatrical TrailerTV SpotsRadio SpotsDISC THREE (Blu-ray):Original Color Timing PresentationVintage Interview With Producer Moustapha Akkad“Halloween: A Cut Above The Rest”“Halloween Unmasked 2000”Halloween – The Extended Cut In HD (TV Inserts Are In Standard Definition)Theatrical TrailerTV SpotsRadio Spots Review: Worth owning! - There's no need to say anything about the story. Of all the packages released so far, this is number one and the best. Three discs are included in this pachage. # 1: 4K UHD newly scanned from the original negative . Main feature 92 minutes # 2: Blu-ray also scanned from the original negative . Main feature 92 minutes # 3: Extended Edition Blu-ray with the original color timing . Main feature 101 min. The silver halide grain and extremely fine texture are consistent throughout the film. The picture quality, resolution and colour tones are not to mention amazing. 4K UHD supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision, and audio supports Atmos, Dolby 7.1, 5.1 and original mono 2.0, so you will be delighted . 4K UHD is undoubtedly the best choice for home theater viewing, they're all worth watching, and each one comes with its own bonus features. The jacket is reversible, and I personally prefer the original "Halloween" design on the back, so I use it with that side out. (Photo attached) Lastly, this package is worth owning and will not disappoint. Review: The one, the only, the original-HALLOWEEN! - In 1978, John Carpenter wrote, directed, and scored his third theatrical feature, “Halloween.” Upon its initial release, it didn’t performed as hoped, so the maverick multi-talent moved forward with his Gothic thriller, “The Fog.” However, after Roger Ebert gave the film a justifiably excellent review, audiences listened-and turned out-in droves, making it the most profitable independent studio feature film until the record was shattered two decades later with the found footage flick, “The Blair Witch Project.” The film was reissued multiple times in theatres, paired in the early 80s with “Halloween II,” was shown on NBC in 1981 with added footage, not to mention numerous VHS, laserdisc, DVD, Blu-Ray, and now this fine 4K remastering included in this great Shout! Factory reissue. Shot in 17 days on a shoestring budget of $320,000, Carpenter’s economical shooting schedule is reminiscent of another cinematic heavyweight, Clint Eastwood. His shadowy lensing style, lean employment of music, and familiar pool of talents is evident in several Carpenter endeavors. In regards to music, his famed 5/4 piano and synth theme is as iconic as the music for “Psycho,” “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly,” “Jaws,” “Star Wars,” and any other memorable movie scores your mind can recall. This package provides viewers with the sharpest video and best audio, including the somewhat faithful original mono track, vintage documentaries, plentiful interviews, all commentaries (save for the much requested Criterion laserdisc commentary), trailers, as well as the theatrical and television versions. If you are a fan of the film, you instinctively realize that this shall not be the final reissue of this film, but until it’s 50th Anniversary (or the next revisionist take on the horrors of Haddonfield arrives), this “Colector’s Edition” should more than satisfy your “all hallows eve” cravings!

No slipcover
This came very fast and it was nicely packaged. My only complaint is that the picture shows it has a slipcover and the movie did not come with a slipcover which for people that collect is very important.

Awesome Movie...
I was hoping that the audio mix would have been fixed, but it wasn't. At the beginning of the movie, a girl and her boyfriend are talking. On all the mixes I've heard on the blu ray and this 4K, you can't really make out what the two are saying. I've seen people watching this movie online and you can clearly hear what the people are saying. I don't know why the surround sound mixes are difficult to listen to.

Halloween in a fantastic 4k Blu-ray. The film looks better than ever before. The original 35mm film restored from original camera negative. Looks great. Terrific sound and picture of the film. For Halloween fans this is must get on 4k. I so impressed with this version on 4K

I can't wait for Halloween 2 to arrive I hope it's restoration is as super awesome as this one. I heard a couple of people say the 4K version looked a little grainy, it's not, it's actually the original film stock, as the restoration doesn\t blur it, im sure it's more tech than that but just my two cents.

Ordered on September 27 and arrived today 6th October here in the UK. Looking at some of the recent reviews I was a little unhappy knowing I was likely to get a flimsy slip cover. Which matters to us who like to collect physical media. Well it seems I got a hard cover copy! Tracking well a little off. Stated it was coming with DPD, but code did not work properly. Today, I got an email off Evri saying they would deliver. Fine by me then DPD arrive with the DVD. Either way it arrived safely in the standard Amazon style packaging. My only concern was the DVD’s inside were loose. Luckily no damage and the 4K plays fine. I won’t comment on the movie or picture quality as there on plenty of people on YouTube who are more well versed to tell you all you need to know. DVD and cover have no damage. A must have for any horror fan. Note, the 4k will work on all 4K players but the blu ray discs included are region A locked and will not work unless you have a multi-region player.
