I have many of her books, and I enjoyed this one too!

I’ve bought these books for years, as gifts, after buying mine, years ago. They are not just cookbooks, but they are art. They are beautifully illustrated, packed with ideas for entertaining guests and treating ourselves to a charming break in our busy lives. I’d forgotten about Rootbeer floats, and how serving them becomes an unexpected surprise. How to welcome overnight Guests, with a cooler, in their room, with snacks and “nibbles”…

I have collected many Susan Branch's book and this one did not disappoint! I love the new recipes that I had not seen and enjoying every page of this book!

Bought this as a gift for my future daughter-in-law as I had a notion that she would love Susan Branch and was right. Susan's books are always full of delightful pictures plus tidbits and sayings. Homestyle at the best quality.

I bought the original/old version of this book from a used bookseller, and of course, I loved it. But WOW is this new edition different! It has lots of new artwork, recipes, and general content, and the print quality is wonderful! The colors are brighter, much more vivid, and totally beautiful. I'm so glad I took the chance, buying what I thought was pretty much a duplicate book - it's not! It's way better! If you're a Susan Branch fan, you're going to want this latest edition for your collection. It's worth every penny for all the extra loveliness.

Susan Branch truly creates a cookbook worth reading. Her talented hand graces every page, as if she were writing the book just for you! The heartfelt quotes, both her own and from famous people, are touching and eloquent. Her whimsical style is clever and fresh. Appetizing recipes and party plans give the reader an excuse to plan an event! In short… Heart of the Home is irresistible!

I love the charming illustrations and the recipes seem to be a collection of good basics. The only problem I have is, the author mentions her mother calling her and her siblings “wild Indians” which is very offensive to Indigenous people. Be warned, this could be triggering for some.

I love Susan Branch and am trying to collect each of her cookbooks. This one has great recipes and ideas for parties. This would make a wonderful gift for someone or a great addition to your own collection.

Have the original but felt it was worthwhile to get the 30th anniversary edition.
