Invaluable when Allen keys fail
After being quoted an astronomical sum to remove a stairlift, I set about doing it myself. Unfortunately, it was installed by a gorilla. I bent 2 Allen keys trying to undo the bolts holding the track together and only managed to remove 1 out of 30 or so that I tried. I also bent two bit-holders using a Bosch cordless drill... As I already had the batteries, I bought one of these impact drivers and had the job done in under an hour! There was no backlash, like you get with a drill/screwdriver, it just hammered away at the bolt until it started to move and then carried on undoing it. It still chewed through 4 5mm hex bits, but it was virtually effort-free. Definitely worth the money. Even if I never use it again, it's paid for itself several times over.
