Great First Cast Iron – Amazing Sear
First time owning a cast iron pan and I love how it sears steaks. It gets extremely hot and gives a great crust. Just make sure to leave the windows open and turn the fan on when cooking. It can rust pretty easily if you’re not careful, so dry it quickly and take care of the seasoning. For the price, it’s an excellent value for a Dutch oven and skillet combo.

The quality is excellent right out of the box—sturdy, heavy-duty, and evenly pre-seasoned so it’s ready to use immediately. I love that the lid doubles as a skillet, giving you two functional pans in one compact set. The 5-quart size is perfect for soups, breads, roasts, and one-pot meals, while the skillet lid works beautifully for frying, searing, or even baking. Both pieces heat evenly and hold heat well, whether I’m using them on the stovetop, in the oven, or over a campfire. The dual handles make lifting and maneuvering easier than most cast iron pots I’ve owned. Worth the value for the money
You can’t beat the price for this Dutch oven. I love using it to bake sourdough loaves. It’s a little on the rougher side in terms of smoothness but I simply scrubbed with one of the chain mail and it smoothed it out a little. It is super sturdy. I do recommend seasoning it though. Perfect size.

More than adequate for baking bread. May not be heirloom quality.
Needed a Dutch Oven for my first attempt at sourdough. Picked this one up on-sale and it helped to make the first attempt very successful. This oven is on the thinner side for cast iron as compared to some of the other brands that are already in my kitchen arsenal. However, it is very sturdy, has good weight and heats up quickly while retaining that heat for an adequate amount of time. It came pre-seasoned but I washed it and put another thin coat of seed oil on it to make sure it was ready to go. The size was perfect for a 750G dough ball, could definitely fit a larger ball if needed. You can certainly spend a lot of $$ on different brands that are well known but for my use, this does the job nicely and seems like it will last a long time. Looking forward to many years of use. This item is made in China and the instructions for use and care mention nothing about its ability to be heated while empty to 500 degrees but I had no issues getting it up to temp and while the casting seems to be a bit rough, it didn't affect the function. Lid fits great and the silicone handles while an appreciated add to the purchase, can't be secured to the handles and seem like they might be more of a potential hindrance than a benefit.

MY NEW FAVORITE THING? Or, a rusted mess?
My new favorite thing? Not sure! I used to have a small cast iron skillet and gave it away. Recently, I ordered this Dutch oven and have used the top flat part every day since I got it. Love the top as a skillet. The entire Dutch oven, I have used to make perfect rice and perfect quinoa. Holds the steam inside very well. ONLY PROBLEM - RUST --- HOWEVER I THINK IT'S MY FAULT. As mentioned, I used to have a skillet of cast iron and had it for years - never any rust. After 6 weeks the skillet is unfortunately rusting now. I am ordering Navel Jelly to use in removing the rust. Then I will season it again and hope for the best. I HAVE SEASONED THE UNIT MANY TIMES ALREADY BUT APPARENTLY, I HAVE ALSO LET IT SIT IN WATER IN MY SINK AFTER COOKING WHICH IS NOT CORRECT. I DID A SEARCH ON GOOGLE TO ASK ABOUT HOW TO CLEAN THE DUTCH OVER AFTER USE AND THE CORRECT WAY IS TO CLEAN IT AND LET IT DRY ON THE STOVE USING A BURNER TO DRY IT AND THEN SPRAY IT WITH OIL AGAIN. I hope this works.

Great pan for sourdough bread baking!
I bought this pan to use in making my sour dough bread and it is an amazing pan for this. The bread cooked evenly and turned out wonderfully brown like it is suppose to. I also love the look of the pan and look forward to using it for other things. Nothing beats a cast iron pan! You won't regret buying this pot, I see many uses for it!

Got it for a ridiculously good price
I got this one sale for around 32 dollars. What a great deal. Nice and thick. Seems to hold heat for a nice long time (like most cast iron). And it came pre seasoned. I still decided to add a few layers of vegetable oil and season it in the oven. Ill update this review if for some wild reason, this cast iron set fails to meet expectations.

a rock solid, great value cast iron combo that does both skillet & dutch oven. I love the versatility of this. I seasoned once before using and it was an excellent performer. abide by the cast iron rules and you will love cooking steak, sausages, bacon with this. highly recommended

Amo este producto especialmente para hacer pan, pero honestamente creo que prefiero las manijas alargadas como de sartén ya que estas son pequeñas y para sacar el pan se vuelven muy pesadas, pero igual me las arreglo
