Terrible service do not buy !

I bought it for my husband for Father's Day. Our ice maker on our freezer only makes 10 lbs of ice a day. It's not enough for an active family of four. We constantly run out during the summer months. My husband and kids thought it was stupid idea and something we would not use. Within two days, they were all singing a different tune. It's amazing how fast it makes ice. It's also much easier to fill a water bottle with at small neck with the ice from this machine than it is from our freezer's ice dispenser which would spit ice all over the floor. My daughter and I love it for ice coffee. My husband brought this on vacation with us and we didn't have to buy ice once for the coolers. We put it out at parties for frozen drinks and ice and it works great.

This is an excellent product. Easy to clean with the auto clean feature. It is small so does not hold a lot of ice. Does not take up much counter space either. I had a larger Igloo ice maker but it was not possible to get the internal parts free of black mold. It also passed away, started leaking water and not making ice after 1 year of use. This one is running fine.Follow up: After three months of constant 24 hour use I have noted the following: Ice tray is really small. About enough to fill two tumblers of average size. So for parties or more than 2 people I would freeze some extra in the freezer. The full light is controlled simply by a sensor that, when blocked by ice, turns the compressor off so no more ice made until you remove some or it melts down. In fact, the cubes often build up to the sensor only on the side closest to the sensor and shut of the unit with the basket half full. You may need to rake them down to get a full basket. Just one ice cube can block the sensor. If you have even a blink of power failure the unit goes to sleep and you have to reset it. Summer thunderstorms in Florida are an example. Otherwise the unit is great!

I don't consider something a liquid to drink if it lacks ice. This machine works great and I love it dearly. I just was tortuted by a more expense NewAir Unit that ran 10 days, then it eventual replacement that was "Refurbished" to which I objected but got anyway. After the "runaround circuit of misery" by NewAir? The eventual Refurb "New Unit" arrived D.O.A. It turned on but the arms would not turn just like the junk unit I bought new. I finally bought this "Igloo- The Wirecutter Recommendation". I LOVE IT!!!It just keeps WORKING AND WORKING CRANKING OUT REALLY NICE ICE. Buy THIS ONE. Please read their EXCELLENT User's Manual. It's highly informative: tells you what to expect, troubleshooting tips, how to use the self-cleaning (easy) feature. It does take a very few minutes of no sounds before you hear it working this is normal. A tip I received from people experienced in buying ice machines: Get the extended warranty. I bought it for 3 years. I realized what a bargain and convenience this unit was compared to the cost and hauling of bagged ice. This wonderful machine also weighs 1/3 of the NewAir garbage. BUY THIS ONE!

I have had this product for a week. This is the first ice maker I have ever owned of this type. It Makes ice very quickly. It is a little noisy. There is a fan or blower type noise almost constant when it’s running and when it dumps ice it is much noisier. It took a bit to get used to. The ice does tend to stick together if left for any length of time, but we really like it. I bag the ice and put it in our freezer for extra ice. If you were going to use it outside, I really don’t think the ice would last very well in a warm area. It’s great for putting right into your glass and as a supplement to an ice maker installed in the fridge. Ice tastes great, but we also have good water. I like that you can adjust the size of the ice, but mine only makes one size whether it is set to large or small. The basket is maybe about a quart size so it can’t hold much ice at a time before it is full. I must empty it often to keep it going otherwise it begins to melt quite a bit and stick together. Color is it appeared. I would recommend this product to a friend.
