It's just what the description says it is.
I gave it 5 stars because the product description says it's a plant stand and that's what it is. In other words it's exactly what it says it is.I read the reviews, how it's so difficult to assemble, turns your whole house into a black mess, how the gloves and mallet are worthless, directions are vague, and I found none of this to be true. I built the large corner stand which is L-shaped and has the most parts and it was time-consuming but easy.Separate all your parts, count everything, and start. Don't try to make sense out of the instructions unless somehow it makes sense to you, rather look at the pictures.1. The tall sticks and short sticks are the uprights, or vertical pieces. The medium sticks are horizontal pieces used for assembling the base and the shelves.2. There are corner brackets and T-shaped brackets. They are stamped with "UP", meaning "this side up". These pieces will always face toward the sky, which is up.3. You don't necessarily have to put all the brackets on all the sticks before you start like the instructions say but assembling some of the corner brackets on some of the sticks makes things go quicker. Remember, all the corner and T brackets will go on the medium sticks.4. Build the base just like it looks in the instructions picture and go up from there. I found it easier to sometimes revert to the picture on Amazon or the Bamworld website than to rely exclusively on the instruction illustrations because it was easier for me to visualize from the actual photo. Your mileage may however vary.5. If you don't wear the gloves your hands will get dirty. Not "Oh my God!!!" dirty, just dirty. It washes right off. I put down newspaper and built on our hardwood floor and dirty was not an issue. The mallet is perfect for the job - don't be afraid to use it. Tap your pieces together before moving on.Took me about an hour to build but I'm a "measure twice cut once" person. If I were to put together another stand I could easily do it in half the time or less. I also assembled the shelves upside down - this I did on purpose because it gives the shelves a raised lip around the perimeter.Take your time - the assembly makes perfect sense.

Adorable and affordable
Shelf is super cute, so far my cats haven’t been able to climb it due to the slats so that’s a big win. It’s a bit short but overall a good size. It is a lot to put together but not too difficult. There’s lots of spots for plant lights to hang as well. It is a little wobbly so be sure to support it.

Best advice - use a real mallet & keep going!
I, of course, knew some assembly would be required but I basically built this thing by hand. I chopped down a tree, planed the wood, sanded it, stained it, cut it into 9037 different pieces, and then put it all together with limited instructions, a VERY HELPFUL pair of gloves (10/10 for those!) and I switched out the mallet they gave me and used my own. It's sturdy enough. I love the color. It holds plants. It's lightweight and easy to relocate. I don't know about longevity but I assume if you keep the pieces dry and you're not bumping into it all the time, it should hold up just fine. Took a long time to assemble. Then assembling all the parts I pieced together, some pieces I did wrong and had to do again. Easy enough to use the mallet to undo mistakes.I know the directions said something about making sure everything was uniform directionally but I had no idea really what that referred to until it was put together and now I know. I have some slats going E-W and some are going N-S. But I don't care. Well, I probably do care and tomorrow I'll undo the whole thing to do them all the same direction. This is for my new office space and it looks great. I will get another one for home eventually. I'd give it 5 stars but the directions are garbage.

Good build, good stand.
Bought this one after buying the larger bookstand version. Easy to build and sturdy.Wear the gloves for the splinters and make sure the holes marked "up" face up or you'll be starting over.

Just what I was looking for
I love this!! It was exactly what I was looking for. Very sturdy. Takes a bit of time to put together but is worth it. Looks great and fits several plants.

I’m not sure the Virgo in me can do this!
It was a nightmare to put together. It assembled crooked no matter how much I hammered it. Instructions could have been better.

Easy assembly and love how it looks.
Assembly really is not complicated. Took under an hour. Looks great and seems fairly sturdy. I like it so much, I will be buying the tall version next. I used some books to have a surface for small decorations.

I love it! 💖 But so do the squirrels 🥺
When I opened the box and realized every piece was separate, I almost taped it back up for a return, but I'm glad I didn't! 🤩 This thing really looks nice, goes together well, and is very sturdy. The instructions are also well done. This is not a cheapo Chinese product. My only complaint, which has nothing really to do with the product and attributes solely to the jerk squirrels- they seem to like to chew on it so 48 hours after it was assembled I'm afraid a shelf may collapse. 😬
