Yes,that's why it has a saucer.

Q: 1) Is the glaze lead free? 2) The description contradicts itself. Can it be safely put in the dishwasher? 3) Can it be put in the microwave?

No dishwasher. Have never put it in the microwave so can’t speak to that. No lead.

Q: What will happen if you put it in the dishwasher

I've never put mine in the dishwasher. I just rinse it with hot water. Which to me is all it needs with just drinking coffee in it. Hope this helps!
