The pan itself is great. Heavy duty aluminum. Twist operating. The cartridges it comes with are cheap and tend to leak. I purchased rite in the rain refills and replace them immediately. What I love about the pen ... I love the twist to reveal the pen head for writing. I love the sturdiness of the pen. The clip is very sturdy as well. What I hate about the pen ... It is fat. It sticks out like a sore thumb. And the window breaker tip sticks out even more. This is the pen that will bulge through any pocket you put it in. And if you leave it on a table it draws attention to itself. The exact opposite of what you want in a tactical pen. If you were to use this as a emergency weapon of last resort, the pen is so fat it would cause any blow you gave to be blunted. You would be better off using the window breaker tip (that is long enough to break the skin) to attack with instead of using the pen point of the pen. It is just to blunt to do any damage. This is the pen you keep in your vehicle(s). Not the tactical pen you would keep on your person most of the time.

I've owned one of these pens for several years and it has never failed me. The ballpoint pen writes in the rain, snow, etc. I used the installed ink cartridge for two years before needing to change it out, with heavy use 5 days a week. The glass breaker is very effective and requires minimal effort to punch out a window in an emergency situation.

These pens are excellent for law enforcement. The cost is very affordable.

Works great and writes well. I keep on in my backpack and one on my coffee table.

I like that you can write with it without having to take the pen apart. The pens come as a pair one black and one shiny silver. I take the silver one with me on dressy occasions and carry the black one daily. The pens write well and the cartridges are a good size. The carbide tip is at the top of the pen ready to use at all times. This prevents you from putting your thumb over the end while forward striking though useful for a backhand blow. Nice to have it ready for window breaking. The clip is wide and strong enough to hold it even in a back trouser pocket.I really like them and have given pens to my wife and a friend who is interested in personal protection. Very good product. Inexpensive. I think it should last along time.I highly recommend it.

Very nice for the low price, but these pens feel considerably flimsier than the tactical pens I've owned in the past. The front portion rotates easily; The back has a worse feel when gripped; The pen as a whole feels less weighty - I don't know whether it's due to the shell's material; Also feels really awkward to write with those, not that it matters much

These are high-quality tactical pens they write very nice and hey if you ever need to defend yourself or bust a window case you’re trapped in your car and they would work perfect!

I have a set of these I got last year's and they have been amazing , this set not so much I dropped one and the front broke and now the pen won't open and close properly so it makes it impossible to write with, I will go back to the brand I bought last time which was way sturdier and could take a drop with out breaking.
