Such a good buy. Love it, works perfectly and stylish.

I've just received this device and will update if I run into issues. It is superbly useful to control volume quickly with this device as opposed to grabbing a mouse or trackpad, putting a cursor on a slider, and sliding the volume. Even the Touch Bar volume control is no match for the speed of this USB wired controlled.Here are some facts about it.The device case is 100% metal, with no visible plastic parts. The volume knob is brushed metal.There are four rubber feet that keep the device in place.The controller is stamped "Made In China" on the bottom.I own a MacBook Pro late-2019 16" model (A2141) and, using a dongle to attach this USB device to the newer USB-C inputs found on latest MacBook, it is running Mac OS Catalina, and this volume controller worked immediately! No software updates, no extra steps. The lighted LED dial worked, and the device controlled the volume well. Depressing the button muted the sound, depress again to unmute. The device controls the sound just as the song would be controlled by mousing the volume slider in the upper right screen. I keep the controller right next to my trackpad.The controller is visible even in pitch dark thanks to its LED blue light underneath the dial; I see no switch to turn this light on and off, its always on.The mute and unmute functions are instant, as is the volume regulation; no delays. Also, the dynamic range of the control is precisely as it is in the MacOS slider...there is not issue with truncating the volume range.The volume controller is always on, there is no on & off switch to hassle with; no batteries or charging (like my Apple trackpad, for instance, which must be charged).The cable is micro-USB to USB-2.0, and as such, can be replaced should it be necessary (i.e. the cable is not fixed in the device, but instead can be removed from it). It his a braided cable at over 6 feet in length, which seems substantial and well made.I also own a 2015 MacBook Pro 15" that this controller plugs right into the USB port, it is running macOS Catalina, and again, boom, instant gratification with plug and play. No fuss.I recommend this device as it is robust, and although seem pricey at nearly twenty-five clams, it will be used for a few years, and several thousand hours.Important edit: While the device works with MacOS as advertised with the native speakers 🔊 inside your MacBook, it does NOT control the volume if you have an external speaker connected through the 3.5 mm speaker jack! I have Bose Companion computer speakers connected by wire through the 3.5 mm headphone jack in my McBPro, and this device does not mute or control the volume. I tried Amazon laptop speakers through same jack, no volume control. This is important for many of you. I do not own a Windows PC or laptop to know if this is true for that ecosystem.

This usb volume control works great with my Hermes Lite 2. You can control the VFO and the volume up and down. You have to program the control wheel. Google it for programming instructions
