Ennio Morricone is a master at creating powerful music that has a voice all its own. Both moving and engaging; a wonderful listen. This CD has five complete soundtracks that are epic in tone and haunting in their presence.As for the confusion/concern regarding the original soundtrack vs the recording by maestro Morricone and the Soliste e Orchestre del Cinema Italiano, the listener should not worry. Yes, some of the flavor/texture/scoring may feel different, however, upon researching this matter of taste AND ego, I found that these very musicians are the core of Morricone's music.A great buy, excellent recording, and wonderful sound!

Love the Movies They dont Make them like that any more. Who needs all that sex anyway.Take out the sex and the movie would be about 15 minutes long. Looking for a good Movie can't miss with the GOOD the BAD and the Ugly. But with all movies you can watch them just so many times but the music again and again and nevert get tired of the music.

Lots of the orininal Clint Eastwood movie sound tracks. Were great when you watched the movie anb are great to hear when you are not, or are drivig in trafic.

I am a fan of spaghetti westerns and now the music can go with me in my truck!

I was a bit hasty, did not read all the reviews thoroughly, and was disappointed to find out these are not the original soundtrack recordings. They are serviceable recordings, made in 2012, perhaps from the originals scores as claimed. They may work for you, but I think most true fans of the movies will be reminded constantly of the differences between these and the soundtrack recordings.

not complete - didn't have "Two Mules for Sister sara"

Bought this for my dad for his birthday thinking it would be amazing! Looked at previous reviews before I purchased it and was convinced! Only my dad was pretty disappointed, as the first cd he didn't really know any of the songs. He's 62 and a westerns fanatic??!! So all in all not very happy :( however the second cd is great he said!

Great listening but does appear to have some non-original versions

First of all, I want to point out that these are not the originally recorded scores for the films. They were recorded in 2012, and not conducted by Ennio Morricone. The tracks sound pretty good. But there is just something missing. Its like if you're used to drinking Coca-Cola, and someone gives you a no-name cola from the grocery store. Its pretty much the same thing. But it's just a bit off. These recordings lack the punch and hardness of the original scores.However, having said that, I am happy to have bought this set. The price was great at $17.99 for 5 cds. Many of the original soundtracks are out-of-print or very hard to locate, so these do the job until I track down the ones I still need. The tracks, while not the originals, are done pretty well. They evoke the feeling of the films, and are quite enjoyable. I listen to music a lot on my drive to and from work, (about half an hour each way) and these are a great way to pass the time.Recommended for fans of the films. But die hard Morricone fans may want to hold out for the original recordings.

Bought this for Christmas for my husband, who absolutely loves the music to these Sergio Leone movies. Now he can listen away in his car. Happy with this purchase.
