The instructions are terrible. It won't switch to Fahrenheit - instructions mention "shutdown mode" but nowhere does it tell how to get to "shutdown mode".

Never got accurate reading

It's really easy to use, but I'm doubtful of its accuracy. I used it side by side with my standard in-ear thermometer and got significantly different results each time. Not sure it's reliable.

Purchased as a gift, will review after Christmas. UPDATE: purchased knowing the accuracy would be similar to strips kind. Primarily bought for geriatric parents who have trouble with the mouth or underarm technique. Once again a "guide" low grade or needs medical attention pronto. Physical signs always better but helps alleviate their worry and stress. Always use new battieries and don't leave them in the unit. Compared it to a infrared I use around the home it is comparable in accuracy.

Temperature wrong per Dr. This was a gift for my daughter. Her baby was born a few days ago. My daughter showed it to her Dr in the hospital. When he attempted to use it in the ear as well as forehead, he told her to get a refund because it was way off. Unfortunately, 30 days have past. I'd really like to send it back for a refund since I only gave it to her when she had her baby shower a week ago. Thank you...
