LG Electronics AGU73530705 Refrigerator Front Plate Assembly, White

The replacement part is easy to install and looks like an exact match for the original part, which is good and bad. But it is what it is, so I give this 5 stars since it is the factory part and fits perfectly. But the part is bad IMO because the return spring design is poor and it'll probably break again. The internal heater wiring IMO is also an inherently poor design and will also probably fail again. Details below.The return spring failed on the original part for my LG fridge. The bottom leg broke. Unfortunately, the plastic fitting in the mullion itself also broke, so I couldn't replace just the spring. The design of the spring assembly looks really poor to me. The upper leg of the spring is secured by two circular rings of fairly thin and brittle plastic, and that's the part of the mullion that broke, preventing me from just replacing the spring. The spring itself broke at a bend in the lower leg. Putting a bend doesn't seem like the brightest idea since it is now a weak point on a piece of metal subject to repeated flexing.Replacement of the mullion was simple. Remove the two screws holding the middle hinge to the fridge. Use your hand to tap the bottom of the mullion upward to slide the part off of its mounting to the fridge door frame (the top and bottom mullion hinges mount onto dovetails, so you need to slide the hinges off the dovetails). Release the electrical connector that hides under the middle hinge. Replace the mullion with the new one and reverse the steps.The wire from the electrical connector into the original mullion was also broken. I suspect that it is due to a poor design that doesn't secure the wiring from movement. Thus, every time the door is opened and closed, the mullion flips open and closed. The wire then flexes and it eventually fails from fatigue (like bending a paper clip back and forth). I noticed significant sooting on the plastic surrounding the location of the wire break, indicating a short occurred. This seems like a fire hazard to me and perhaps meriting a safety recall.

This took 3 minutes to replace on a Kenmore 795.71093.111 It had to have come from the same factory. It's an exact replacement. Don't bother buying the MYH62044103 spring. It's too large of a diameter. The mhy62044106 looks like it might fit. I didn't try because after inspecting my flap, I found that the plastic spring retainer was broken.UPDATE: It's been almost three months and I'm even more happy with this product. The reason that I'm updating is that I noticed again this morning how smooth and reliable this mullion is. I can open the left side of the door by itself and know that it's going to close properly. That's something I could never do with the original since the day it was new.

This replacement part is fully functional, and works exactly as the original did when it was new.The criticisms that I would have are: 1) It came with no instructions. (This is perhaps to be expected from a DIY replacement part -- but still not at all ideal; read my note below for my reason.) And 2) the outward facing plate (which is hidden in the single photo on this product listing) is not the same color as the rest of the product. It's an oddity, as the original was white to match my refrigerator and this replacement isn't -- but it's nowhere near problematic enough for me to want to deal with the hassle of returning it.IMPORTANT side-note: One of the other reviewers commented that the original wiring fell apart in his original part, when he removed it. The wire in mine did too -- and as it turns out, that wire apparently has 120 volts in it. No idea why this small component needs 120V... but if it had come with any instructions, I would have fully expected those instructions to include a warning to UNPLUG the refrigerator prior to installing this part. (So yeah... don't zap yourself, like I did.)

Worked (almost) perfectly to fix the broken one on my fridge. The one that originally came with the fridge had one very small piece of the plastic that retains one end of the spring break, allowing the spring to come out and not function. When removing the original, the electrical connection also turned out to be so corroded that it fell apart.The replacement fit perfectly, and mostly works. We do find that, if we open the right door first then the left, the hinged part does not always open completely and may get caught when trying to close the fridge. Not sure if the new spring is not as strong as the old one or some other difference. Not enough to return it, but not quite perfect.

This appears to be an exact replacement for my LG fridge LFX25974ST. Replaced in about 5 minutes. The plastic on my old one broke so it could no longer hold the spring. Upon removal of the old one, I noticed the wires were completely severed. Be careful, I read another review that these are carrying a lot of juice (I think there’s a heating element in the flap to prevent condensation....or something like that), so better to unplug the fridge before replacing.

This part of the refrigerator (the Mullion in the Owner's Manual) had its spring break after 7 yrs of use. When I put the new part in, I noticed the electric wire connection had also broke in two from use in the old part and the new part electric wire connection easily clips on after removing the old wire connection clip. My LG model is LFX28978ST/00. I am happy with my purchase which arrived quickly and on time.

We got a really good deal on a slightly-used refrigerator, and the reason we did was that this center bar was broken. I'm sure the owner had been quoted a pretty penny to replace it by some appliance repair service, but I bought the part on Amazon and it took only a few minutes to install it. The price on Amazon was very reasonable.

Had to replace this part due to my original center hinge splitting in two. The fridge had never really closed properly and replacing this piece made everything work like it was supposed to a.k.a. like brand new. This was an easy installation, probably less than five minutes to remove the old one and reinstall this new one.

The double doors began randomly jamming on my LG LFXS24663 refrigerator because the mullion/front plate assembly on the left door would sometimes not fully retract. A close look showed that the plastic centre hinge had cracked. I decided on a DIY repair with this part. It was reasonably easy to install. Once the two screws were removed, the old mullion could be nudged up and released, with some care not to damage the heater wires inside the hinge. The cable connector could be unsnapped (with the fridge unplugged) with the help of a small screwdriver. The new mullion went on with no trouble, and the door now works perfectly. It's not clear what caused the original hinge failure, but I'm hopeful the problem won't recur.

When we closed the door a small spring broke away and therefore we had to replace the whole thing, so far works very well.

Back is white (shown in picture) but front is a medium/dark gray. My fridge is white. Luckily, only about 1/2” is visible between the two fridge doors. This front plate assembly was easy to install and fit our fridge perfectly. Unfortunately, the plastic piece that holds the spring is still the weakest link and will probably break again.

Our Kenmore Elite Refrigerator is 10 years old, we ordered this replacement part. It was perfect, in fact, it was better than the original part

Ordered the part cause it show what I needed on the photos. But received today not what I needed. And to booth I was required to pay shipping to send it back!! Not what Amazon want on their site!!!
