Good product . We use the 3/8s in some of our line boring equipment and flange facers portable equipment they work fine in those applications , you will need to purchase higher quality inserts

Worked great
cut through harden steel like butter vary happy with these cutters

Inserts are junk, but the holders are OK
Maybe I just got a batch of junk, but these bits do not hardly cut aluminum or brass, let alone try them on tool steel. I quickly replaced these inserts with good quality bits and the bit holders work fine. They are plenty sturdy enough to handle tough cutting tasks on my old Atlas lathe.

Not hardened holders. Junk.
First insert chipped and the holder was so soft it crumbled under the insert. Instant junk. Sending it back.

Very nice. Why spend more?
Shafts are highly consistent in dimension. Insert pockets are well formed with 0 clearance around the insert. Nice satin smooth blackened finish. Box is decent but I'd prefer spare inserts instead. No reason at all to spend more.
