Initially, I was leery due to the price point however, after biting the bullet and buying a bag, I am very impressed. The size of the lump charcoal is perfect. It burns clean lights easily after my last cook. I had a good 25 to 30% more lump charcoal left than the previous brand I was using. That being said, I think in the long run from a monetary standpoint, this charcoal will actually end up being about the same price as the cheaper ones, but a much better quality! I was using jealous devil before and several others, including green egg brand and this seems doubt perform them all

I don't do a lot of product reviews unless it is an exceptional product. This Rockwood All Natural Hardwood charcoal is just that. Exceptional. I normally used something like Kingsford, but Rockwood will now be the only charcoal I use. I use a charcoal chimney because I don't like using a flammable liquid to get it going. Rockwood started faster and burned longer and more even than regular charcoal. I had no issues keeping the temperature regulated and I didn't have to add more to keep it going long enough to grill 2 steaks, 8 burgers, 8 hotdogs and 10 ears of corn. I used about half of the amount I would have had to use with Kingsford. I'm very impressed with this charcoal, and would recommend it to anyone.

This charcoal has performed well in my gravity, charcoal grill, and my ceramic grill. It feeds correctly, and the gravity fell and burns exceptionally well and the ceramic grill. I have bought this product twice now and will continue to use it in future

I've been using this charcoal for quite a while and I like it a lot. It's easy to light and the smoky flavor from it is good. It burns for decently long time - I'm always able to completely cook a pork butt all day on my Egg without having to reload. One thing I don't like is that there seem to be a number of smaller pieces in the bag. It's not dust just smaller pieces. Could be because of the shipping and it getting bounced around during the process though. Overall a decent buy that will give you good results with your pit.

I love this new (to me) charcoal. I enjoy the smoke flavor that it gives the food and it does light very easily. It also gets quite hot...which helps to use less for short cooks.
