After Two Years - Full Review
The Great: We’ve had this mower for two years and it’s held up well. Our lawn is small, but it has mowed quietly enough at midnight not to disturb us or our (fussy) neighbors. I don’t think they even know we have it. It does well in rain, too. Setup wasn’t so bad, except wiring the yard. If you follow videos posted by the company on YouTube (I think from Australia or the UK), it’s pretty easy. Cleaning really has been as easy as hosing it down or even just brushing off accumulated grass clippings with your hand. It’s pretty safe, too. The blades are small and many inches inset from the edges of the machine. It would be difficult for it to accidentally injure our dog or a small animal unless they actively flipped it over and chewed on the tiny blades (our dog has no interest in it). I doubt it would even run her over; it bumps into things softly, like a robot vacuum does (though I don’t think she’d just lie around and let it go over her leg or tail in the first place). The Meh: The app could be better. Occasionally, we’ll find that the device stopped running - for no apparent reason - and we have to hard reboot it and delete and reset our schedule in the app all over again to get it running. The app has also never kept track of previous mows (even though it’s supposed to). Lastly, sometimes the charging indicator is waaay off. It’ll go from 100% to 0% to 5% to 20% in seconds. But it has worked and mowed on schedule most of the time. And, because the blades are inset from the edges of the device (they’re in the middle of the bottom), it doesn’t always get the edges of the lawn done when there’s a flower bed stopping the mower from overshooting the perimeter of the lawn itself. That’s fine. I do the edges it can’t get once a week. I don’t need to do the edges that are adjacent to the sidewalk, since it can overshoot and cut those. The Bad: There is NO customer support in the US. I reached the (I believe it was) Australian customer service, who sent me to the Canadian (“North American,” but really just Canadian) customer service, who sent me to the “US” customer service, but the US team never answered calls or returned emails. The Canadian team couldn’t do US support at the time. If you’re in the US, you won’t get support. (At least, as of late ‘22/early ‘23.) But we eventually got to the bottom of the issue ourselves. Why 5 stars? Despite the flaws, it has been a generally reliable product for about 2 years, and it was a budget option compared to the competition. I’m not sure that paying more for another brand would yield any better results. Value to dollar is great, as who’s gonna get someone to mow their lawn 2-3x/week for 2+ years for under $600 (and not have to worry about locking up dogs/granting yard access)? Who wants to do it themselves on their days off?

wanted to love it...
We've had this unit for nearly a year now and it's been down half the time. It was easy enough to set up using the boundary wire provided. Just expect to spend several hours setting it up. The mover stopped working after approximately three months requiring me to reinstall to install another boundary wire at a cost of $50 to get it working again. I don't know what happened, after one month it's stopped working. I don't know what happened. It's great when it works because it mows the lawn really well saves me almost an hours work per week in the hot sun in southern Florida, unfortunately it isn't reliable. Cannot recommend.

Best customer service ever
Incredibly good product and customer service. The mower will definitely keep my lawn in check, no more manual mowing. 1 year after purchase, my house was struck by lightning. A lot of stuff got fried, including the base station for the mower, not the mower itself. I contacted support, and they promptly sent me a label and a box so that I would send the mower to them for diagnostics and possible repair. In about 3 weeks I got the mower back fully fixed, and it immediately went back into service.. All of that was free of charge. Simply another level of customer service! Great job.

It's okay...
When it's finally working it seems to do what it's supposed to do. Setup was mostly ok. Laying wire into the ground etc. wasn't too difficult. However, I had a tremendous amount of problems with getting the app to work. Eventually I figured out the iOS app has issues. I manually updated the mower (by downloading the update on a computer and downloading update to mower through a USB cable). But iOS app still didn't work. I eventually managed to get things working using the android app through my kid's chromebook. Now it seems to be cutting my lawn ok, but it was frustrating getting it to work. The actual device is fine, but I just don't think Europeans are good at programming and user interfaces for electronic gadgets.

Broken less than 1 year after purchase. Gardena support ignored first repair request & second
I bought a Gardena robot mower a year ago and I regret it. The mower stopped working after a few months and I contacted Gardena for warranty support. I waited for a month and got no reply. I sent them another email and they said they got my email and were going to look into it. Another week passed and still no resolution. I asked them to send me a replacement part, but they ignored me. I searched online and found out that the parts for this mower are not available anywhere and they are proprietary. It seems like Gardena is waiting for my warranty to expire instead of helping me. I do not recommend this product to anyone because Gardena will not honor its warranty and will not help you when you need it. This is a waste of money and time.

Nice mower, pain to setup
The only negative is that it didn't come with anywhere near enough wire. I guess I have too many things to go around in my yard, pool, storm shelter, fire pit, etc. I needed about 200' more but had to buy a 500' spool ($85 at the hardware store). The mower is very quiet and does a nice job. Laying the boundary wire is a pain but I knew that up front. Well worth the trouble once done. I haven't needed tech support but I'm sure it's there. You'll need additional wire and connectors but other than those all you need is in the box. A good buy for what I spent, great for a smallish yard.

Mows well, setting up is a lesson in frustration.
I turned on the mower and paired it with bluetooth. Easy! Then it booted me and I could never get it to connect again. I contacted tech support, and they said it needed the wires installed and the complete system set up to work. After installing the boundary and guide wire, and making sure my lawn was super short to begin with, everything was operational except the app/bluetooth connection, and thus the mower only had basic controls. I tried everything, connecting over and over, attempting to re-pair, updating the lawnmower firmware. Nothing could get it to ever reconnect again. Tech support ended up sending me a box to send it in for repairs. A few days after sending it they told me they had updated the firmware and it was working fine. I got it back and to make a long story short, am still having issues with the app not wanting to connect and having to delete/re-pair the mower every time I try to change anything. The mowing part is great. The mower has never gotten stuck on my yard, never gets lost, always makes it back to the dock. However doing anything with the app is pure misery, and thus monitoring or trying to alter any settings on the mower is torture. EDIT: After considerable trial and error I figured out that turning the Bluetooth function off and on again right before connecting to the mower, or if the connection fails, works almost every time. If you are having trouble try this! MUCH LATER EDIT: The Bluetooth connection issues have since been fixed and the app functions properly, greatly improving the experience of using these mowers.

Easy to set up and works great.
I recently had 2 Husqvarna automowers installed to mow my large yard, but one small piece was isolated by buildings and my driveway. I installed a Gardena Minimo to take care of this small area. It arrived the day before I was leaving for a 1 week vacation, so I was able to install it that afternoon. If you read the instructions and watch the installation videos it is a very easy machine to set up. It ran every day for the week I was out of town without any problems and has been doing so perfectly since I have come home 2 weeks ago. I have it set to automaticly vary the cut time based on the grass growth and it has reduced the time it runs each day due to the normal summer slow down of grass growth. But when I set it up that section of lawn was tall and did not look good at all. It has managed the area perfectly and the lawn looks great now. Do not pay attention to the negative reviews, every one I read was obviouse that it was not the machines fault. If you are the least bit tech savy and have a little ability this will be an easy set up. Gardena is a division of Husqvarna and they share many parts and technology. And when I purchased mine it was just a little over $500, by far the best deal on a robotic mower. They also give you a 3 year warranty when you register it. Nothing better than coming home from a weeks vacation to a perfectly mowed yard. Note: I rated tech support 5 stars due to the very detailed instructions and very useful install videos. I have not needed to actually reach out to them.
