Best sander ever
This sander is expensive, but well worth it. Very durable and effective in both modes with all grits. Festool customer support is beyond excellent - they repaired a broken switch on another heavily abused sander that was over 5 years old for a very reasonable fee. I am a customer for life.

Festool quality and power
This is my first Festool. After getting it, I am going to buy more. The sander is so quick and easy to use. It is well balanced so my hand does not vibrate after use. The ease and efficiency of this tool easily justifies its price. The dust collection works well and keeps the work area cleaner than I had even hoped. The tactile quality in construction felt indicates it should have a very long life.

This sander has changed my life
Yes, it's expensive, but it pays for itself in time saved, quality of work, and the reduced frustration you will have. I am restoring an 1898 house and carriage house (and some furniture found here) and having the right tools makes all the difference. I like the interchangeable heads and the smaller head size for detail work. Seamlessly hooks up to the Festool HEPA vac. Love the speed control dial and the option for finer or rougher work. Vibration level is better than most. I usually work with Makita sanders and an old B&D. The carrying/storage case is a great addition and keeps everything tidy when not in use.

Fantastic sander !!!!
I have had this sander for about 2 months now and am very happy with it. This sander is incredible, it is very fast and gives a super finish. In ROTEX mode it is very aggressive and will even remove paint quickly but in random orbit mode it will give a great finish. Dust collection works great as long as you remember to turn your dust extractor on !! Another great Festool product !!
