Chris & Chris 20" by 40" by 36" Chef Series Kitchen Work Station

This cart is great, but there were some major quality control problems that were obvious as soon as the box arrived. The box weighs 120 pounds and traveled here from Malaysia, so it took a substantial beating in transit. Several loose parts fell out as soon as I opened it. A number of parts had suffered visible damage, including a couple of dents one one side of the butcher block. But there was nothing that stopped me putting it together or seriously interfered with functionality, so I kept going.The top of the cart comes pre-assembled, but some of the bolts inside weren't even halfway screwed down. I tightened them up and everything worked. When it came time to attach the handles, one was missing a bolt. The bolts supplied for the two end pieces that hold hooks were the wrong size for the threads in the end pieces; they would not go in more than 1/8 of an inch. See the pictures – one of them shows the original silver bolt, versus the bolt I found in my parts drawer that actually fit the threads. The difference in thread size is obvious. I had to go to a hardware store and hunt down the missing and wrong-sized bolts.Most of the dented and partially broken pieces were hidden after assembly, so in the end the only thing that really mattered to me was the knife block, which was broken in half. I'll try to get a replacement from Amazon, or file a claim with UPS.Chris & Chris need to work this out with their manufacturer. They've got a terrific design here, but the packaging isn't tough enough and the QC on the parts was sorely lacking.

Was missing two screws so read the instructions and inspect carefully that you have all the gear! It's a thing of beauty and has doubled my kitchen work area. What would make it perfect is if it had a speed rack like the other models but that's me being really too hard a judge. It's beautiful. I am very happy.
