Slothlove Hardcover – April 19, 2016

You lavish love on your dog or cat or both, right? Well done. But please prepare to make room in your heart for the mammal perhaps quixotically named sloth. Sloth addicts visiting U.S. zoos are prone to weeping at the sight of these adorable little guys (Wall Street Journal). The new book "Slothlove" by Sam Trull contains her (yes) extraordinary pictures of these little miracles. She has given them loving care as part of a determined effort in Costa Rica to save and improve their lives. In 2014, she co-founded the Sloth Institute of Costa Rica to encourage research and education about sloths. Her narrative is generous with facts about sloth habits, but her own photos of her favorites--Elvis, Kermie, Monster and Newbie--are life-affirming and gorgeous. Conservationists discourage having sloths as pets, due to health issues and possible diminution of the population, but it's hard not to want one. I have been a reader since I was a kit, and this book is one of the most magical I have ever read. Make sure you share it with your own kids!

This is quite possibly the greatest book in my collection, and I own a lot of books. Full disclosure: I'm painfully obsessed with sloths. I squeal at every picture and once took an entire vacation based around getting to meet one in person. So, if you're a sloth fiend like me, this book does not disappoint at all. It is full of adorable photos of sloths to squeal over and also has a lot of fun information about sloths. I was really impressed at the level of information the author gives, including stories about the sloths in the photos. This book has a permanent place on my coffee table and always gets attention whenever people come over.

I was just returning to the US from a Costa Rica vacation and was browsing the shops in the airport when I spotted Slothlove. I love sloths, in fact the number one thing on my Costa Rica wish list was to see a live sloth. So when I saw the book, I just had to have it. I loved it! The pictures are so dang cute, it just makes your heart swell. Anytime I'm having a bad day, I just have to pick up Slothlove and thumb through it. The day is instantly brighter.

Love this book and the beautiful story that comes along with it. What a pleasant surprise! I absolutely adore sloths. I can truly see how they could help heal a broken heart. The book has lots of facts and educational information that I did not know. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and the pictures are amazing. Wonderful gift for any sloth lover!

It is a given that, if you are already find sloths sweet, this book will only strengthen that love with its enduring pictures and colorful anecdotes about the yawning creatures.Narrating details about their life's, care and relationship with each other, it gives you a bright insight beyond the dried, clinical descriptions that litter the majority of documentaries with fact on their sleeping habits and.... mostly nothing else.There is a fascinating creature beyond its accurately-descriptive name, and it could be argued that the book could even change skeptical's about its drowsy but, ultimately sweet appearance.

Love, love, love this book. It is so poignant and touching, I cried several times before getting to the end. The photography is beautiful and those baby sloths are so adorable, who wouldn't want to save them? This book is a love letter for all the sloths and their champions.

Super cute book with alot of info but the pages were rendered a bit weird on the amazon tablet. We had to double press each paragraph to be able to see it well enough. The page contents did not collective fill the page so the images and words could have filled the viewing size better. Wished it were more user friendly

Cutest book ever! Great conversation piece as a coffee table book. Sloths are so adorable. These pictures are so up close and clear - you can almost feel the little creatures. Book is also full of fascinating information about sloths in an easy-to-read format,

Das Buch ist supersüß, sowohl die Fotos als auch die Texte (auf Englisch!). Für Faultierliebhaber finde ich es absolut empfehlenswert!!!

Je ne regrette pas du tout cet achat. Arrivage très soigné, les photos et commentaires à l'intérieur sont magnifiques, surtout pour une grande fan des paresseux comme moi. C'était un cadeau pour ma sœur, on est toutes les deux folles de ces adorables animaux, et elle était émerveillée!
