Quality components at an affordable price.
I found this game playing a virtual game night on Board Game Arena. After a couple of games I came right to Amazon and found it. I was very happy it's not overpriced. So I got itBGA got me to appreciate the art and mechanics. (There are many great resource choices that make east game a good adventure). But what arrived impressed me greatly. The box was smaller than I expected, but in all honestly, it didn't need to be bigger. The cardboard prices are thick and sturdy. And I greatly appreciate how the box is the board, the container, and the tracker all at the same time. The product design is incredible. This was the first Ludonaute game I've bought. I've now bought more and enjoy the quality. I also found out they have Louis and Clark. I've played that at a friend's years ago and enjoyed the game greatly. It's been on my to but list for a while. For lost explorers, there are about 5 mechanics to keep track of. 2 tracks to unlock clues, pigs that are used as travel tokens (collected and used to travel the world) Or quests of where you need to have meeples at to advance one of the two tracks. The meeples are used to collect pogs or go to world locations. And managing them is key. But fairly flexible too. Certain criteria while advancing the tracks give bonuses (recovering a pog in certain advancements or meeting minimums on both tracks to unlock your 4th meeples.)This isn't instructions or a guide. I'm just listing some of the general mechanics. There is plenty to think about. But it's all in these 5 areas. I really like it.The biggest bonus is at the end when we "unlock" a real world location. The board game has a system for using QR codes. Sure, the game is over and a winner named. But I love looking up and virtually exploring a random place. After all this is the theme of the game.Well designed and built components. Thoughtful play within a few meaningful mechanics. (I would watch a YouTube tutorial). And a great price. And the box would look great on any shelf.
