Yes there is a code in the book for you to download from modiphius website

Could this be played solo?

Yes You can play this, and frankly, any TTRPG solo. It is not intended for this purpose, but many players use products like Mythic Gamemaster Emulator or other products called "oracles" to take the place of a game master. It is not the same experience as group play, as you must be GM and PC, but it is a great option if no one in your gaming group knows Dune lore.

Does it come with the pdf version

Nope, it's just them physical copy. If you order from the companies website at MSRP I think they will include the PDF version.
