I was looking for something new to try, with coloring books, and found this, Adult Black Background Coloring Book. Attached, are a few photos, showing finished pictures, and a variety of pages throughout the book. I love the variety in designs, but especially the black background! It makes the colors pop, and really stand out, when using markers, or gel pens. Or, for a softer effect, colored pencils glide in like butter. The paper quality is excellent, even for alcohol markers. I only wish the pagers were perforated, but I removed my page with an xacto knife, with no problems.I really look forward to using more of this book, as the designs are all so varied and beautiful! I am such a fan of Jenean Morrison's work. This book contains designs from several of her previously released books, but they have black backgrounds and some parts of the designs are colored in black. I am happy to have added this to my collection of Jenean Morrison books

lovely assortment of mandalas and other designs with black background. My only gripe is the paper quality is just average like copier paper and not perforated for easy removal. Although each illustration is on one side only of each page, markers will bleed through and the paper is not strong enough for watercolor. If you mostly use pencils or gel pens, this book will be fine for you unless you want to remove a piece you've colored, then you're outa luck. The book is glue bound making it impossible to remove pages without wrecking your picture or just about impossible to take the book itself apart in order to copy the pages onto thicker paper in your printer without sacrificing much of the book. Other than that, if you wish it to remain as an intact coloring book, used only with pen and pencil, you will likely enjoy it.

It is great to have the contrast of the black backgrounds. I did find many of the designs were overly complex or overly "trite." (how many butterfly patterns are needed?) Additionally, some of the patterns were excessively detailed and others not. I felt that many of these designs were computer generated - and thus not of much interest to me. I plan to gift this or donate it to a school. I was hoping for more approachable designs and I resented having some of the pages duplicated within the same book. I suppose for $5 it is ok....but I cannot recommend.

Jenean Morrison makes the best book's. You won't find anything like her design's. This mandala book is so great and love the black background. I only wish she would make more black background book's. Out of her many book's there are only 4 with a black background, I have them all. I have a very hard time finding anything as good as her books. Just fantastic!!!! I love you Jenean Morrison.

The designs are lovely; some complex, some simple. My only complaint is the paper is fairly thin - very much like the coloring books we had as kids. Gel pens & markers are not easy on this paper unless you use a very light hand; if you don't, the ink can pool before drying & warp or rip the paper. Layering w/gel pens can also rip thru the design.I haven't tried this book w/colored pencils yet, but I think that will be the best medium for this coloring book.

The quality of paper used for this coloring book is thinner than I have ever seen, except for coloring books from a dollar store. Colored pencil even bleeds through the paper, I would NOT recommend this book. I have other books from this artist that are printed on thicker paper. Save your money, find another book - this one is a dud.

Beautiful designs and I really like the black background, but the paper bleeds through and wicks the ink across the outlines. I love to color but would not buy again

This is one of the best colouring books I have recently received. So many good designs I am looking forward to doing most of them. Definitely worth buying.

Bello e rilassante. Unica pecca: questi libri con sfondo nero, seppur stancando di meno gli occhi grazie al contrasto dello sfondo scuro, non hanno copertina rigida e quindi per colorare bisogna poggiarsi su una base. Consigliato!
