How does it stay closed? It just pushes the toy box lid open all the time?

I fitted these Struts to a toy box. I did one side at a time, but did make sure I checked the measurements were correct. It was a bit of "trial and error " until it was Good. I did find the Struts very hard to depress, and think the lid in my case was quite heavy, so works fine, but could be a problem if too lightweight.

Can this be used on a cold frame lid

I used them on overhead kitchen unit doors which are relatively heavy and I think it’s that weight that allow the gas strut to slowly close , so I’m not sure a lightweight wood or UPVC cold frame lid would work automatically , you’d probably have to push down to close them .

Might sound daft. But are these ment to push the door back open if less than half way closed? Thought they were fully slow closing. For a toy box

They are good for opening. It ensures it stays open which was my main concern to ensure the lid don't slam on the kids once opened. But closing you do need to be careful as it isn't completely slow closing, especially near the end.

How do I make them close before fiiting
