If you are tired of expensive plastic shower heads that don't last, then I would strongly recommend this Speakman Icon model. I love that this is a hefty showerhead, made of solid brass with a chrome finish. Installation was quick and easy and because the fittings are brass (not plastic), you can easily tighten it down to ensure zero leakage. It does not have a fancy selector dial to change the stream to 10 different settings, but it does have an easy to use adjusting lever that can change the spray from wide mist to increasingly larger spray. I call the final setting "deluge" and is what I use to rinse my hair after a shave and shampoo. I've read online where some users have removed the water restricting valve. My only advice is to at least use it several times as originally configured to see if you really need added pressure.This is a durable and high quality fixture that will surely reign over my shower for years to come.

I purchased this Speakman 2.5 GPM showerhead and want to inform that it is superb in every respect. Upon receipt of the showerhead from Amazon, I immediately unpacked it and installed it in my home. The installation was a breeze and took only a few minutes. Teflon thread tape is included in the box. The showerhead is beautifully constructed, has a certain heft to it due to the solid brass construction and is heavily chrome plated. The machining of the threads were of high quality providing an overall impression that this is exceptionally well made. In terms of the showerhead in use I can only say that I'm extremely impressed. I replaced my old home center showerhead due to the low water flow making the showering experience less than ideal. The Speakman showerhead provided double the water flow with pressure that is much higher and more satisfying. In addition the adjustable settings range from needle-like jet flow to soaker type of flow. If you are tired of your low-and-slow flowing showerhead give this one a try. This was a solid purchase and worth every penny in my opinion.

got this one to replace an 8 mode clicking shower head (only really used one or 2 of the modes), and i couldn't he happier. this head allows you to attenuate the shower spray from a focused aggressive spray to a more flooded gentle spray, and anywhere in between. it's awesome! and no useless shower "modes" that ya don't need or use. simple and effective.the water pressure in my condo is 60psi, and this head works perfectly, and delivers an awesome shower experience, so i don't see the need to remove the regulator as other reviewers have done. the head also pivots so you can point it in your preferred direction (slightly away from the shower door in my case). this shower head also looks really nice, and is well made (not a plastic POS). bought the 6 jet version, totally stoked. an inexpensive and awesome upgrade for your bathroom. 11 stars in my book!

I have to admit. I have a problem. I'm addicted to water pressure. Just can't live without it. And if high pressure showers are wrong, I don't wanna be right!My version of a successful shower is the peace of mind of knowing that when I step out, one full layer of epidermis has been thoroughly expunged. I live for the feeling of pure, unadulterated water power pressure washing everything away.So imagine my disappointment when my first ever house purchase, though full of water pressure potential, left something to be desired. The cleansing ability lay dormant, with no device present to harness this latent power. Undeterred, I searched until the instrument of my shower salvation was discovered.The Speakman S-2252 Anystream is one of those dying breeds that lives by the ages old yet dying creed, "Do one thing, and do it well." This shower head delivers power. Raw, unapologetic power. But that is something to be described a little later.The first thing you notice about this shower head is that, despite it's rather diminutive size, it is hefty. There is no mistaking whether this item is made of quality materials. Gravity and mass make sure of that. Solid brass, made to last.The second trait is simplicity. There is no rotary dial with 100 settings. There is simply a lever on the side that moves the 8 nozzles on the face of the head in and out. When moved in the nozzles "squeeze" the water, like your finger covering the end of a hose, giving you defined jets of water and higher pressure. When moved out the nozzles allow free flow of water. Less pressure, but much higher flow. The beauty is that even with such simplicity, the lever can be stopped anywhere you like to adjust streams and pressure to your liking. You really do have the option of "Anystream".Instructions for installation were included and were simple and clear. Like most shower heads, installation isn't rocket science, but if you've never done it before, the instructions make it pretty difficult to mess up. Also included was a small roll of Teflon tape. I was quite pleased with this, as I had misplaced my own roll. I also was pleasantly surprised to find that there is probably enough tape included for 3 installs, so the rest was thrown into the toolbox to be put to future use.Then, to the moment of truth. I turned on the shower and no leakage. But the pressure. Oh! The pressure! I hadn't even stepped into the shower, yet I knew I had found what I had been looking for. I could feel the rush of air as it moved out of the way of the water. I smiled. This was the moment I had been waiting for. I stepped in...I can only describe the shower experience with one word... Joy. My wife will testify to the fact that I was giggling like a schoolgirl the entire time. Like Michael Jordan clutching his first NBA championship trophy, I embraced the water as a long lost friend. This was what I had searched so long for. The perfect shower experience. When the nozzles of the head are turned out for full flow, it's like having someone continually pour buckets of water on your head. Need to rinse off some soap? Done. In an instant. There is no waiting here. But, when you really want to step to the next level, turn that lever all the way over and you will be met with something only a step below a fire hose. On its highest setting, the jets that flew from this shower head stung me. That's not an exaggeration. They literally stung. Some might not find that appealing. I, however, could do nothing but grin like the kid who just received his first bike.Am I satisfied with my purchase? Oh yes. This shower head is not for the faint of heart. But if you have the courage to enter the heart of darkness, you WILL emerge victorious. You will emerge refreshed. You may even be a new person. But one thing is sure. Your flesh will be cleansed.(One thing to note. As most shower heads do, this one came with a flow regulator pre-installed. It is a simple plastic piece fitted into the connector end of the head. If you are like me and don't enjoy feeling restricted in your shower taking, you will want to remove this piece. Of all the things that I tried, I would recommend a pick or pointed Phillips screwdriver and a hammer. After fiddling with it for a few minutes trying other methods, one good whack with the screwdriver on the inner edge of the plastic had it dislodged immediately. I am more than happy that I removed this piece. However, considering just how absurdly good this shower head is, I would suggest trying it with the regulator in place first. I would have to think that it will be more than capable even with governmental shackles on it. When I purchase another one of these for the guest bathroom I will most likely leave the regulator in at first to compare. I will try to remember to update this review at that time when I do.)

Serves well the purpose

Subtracting one star because Amazon changes the price on this product daily (literally). Frustrating. Anyway, I bought two of these, so I'm happy with it overall. It has three settings "Intense", "Rain", and "Flood". Flood is pretty much a throwaway setting, I doubt many people use it. Intense is just as it sounds, and it's not so intense as to leave a prickliness on the skin. Rain is the happy medium setting. I was debating between this and the five jet model: https://www.amazon.ca/Speakman-S-2005-HB-Anystream-Showerhead-Polished/dp/B0018LGZ04/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1504639985&sr=8-3&keywords=speakman. That model has a massage setting that this one does not have and it's less expensive. If a massage setting is what you're after I'd check that one out. All in all, I think this is a great showerhead.

I'm a morning shower person - this is my "cup of coffee" so to speak used to wake me up. I was fortunate enough to purchase this through a lightning deal as it can be quite pricey. However, I do love the fact that is a solid product with adjustable pressure/spray patterns. I love my showers and this Speakman shower head made me love them even more. It has incredible pressure and can clean shampoo and conditioner off your hair much faster. I've been to hotels that have the Speakman shower head with 5-jets, but the 6-jets feels even more incredible. All I know is that if I ever move, this shower head is also coming with me!

It's a beautiful looking shower head. It both looks and feels well made, and has a nice weight to it.When I used it, though, the water pressure wasn't any different from what comes out of my regular shower head (feels like a semi-forceful watering can) and the soaking feature, didn't work. The water kind of just poured out in a sad, slow flow.The product discription and the many positive reviews for this product made me give it a try, as I was willing to spend a bit more to get a great shower experience.Unfortunately, this shower head didn't magically turn my low pressure shower into something spectacular.... Very disappointed.3 stars for construction and looks, but my current shower head works just as well as this one did. Will continue looking...P.S. If you are upgrading your bathroom, and you are lucky enough to have two valves in your bath tub (one for hot and the other for cold), DO NOT replace your two valve system with a single valve. This is a huge mistake as you can't control the flow of water with a single valve, unless you are willing to spend a lot of money for a single valve with a flow control. Really wish I had realized this sooner.....

I had to finally replace a showerhead that was about 25 years old. It had great pressure, and you felt so refreshed after taking a shower. I was shocked to recently test it and find out it only was sending out 2.5 gallons of water per minute. I would have bet the farm it was way more than that. But knowing it was 2.5, I felt confident buying a new showerhead. Many of them are listed as providing 2.5 gpm water flow. After much research, I chose the Speakman S-2252 Anystream Icon. And the build quality is excellent. What isn't is the actual water flow. Speakman promotes this showerhead has an output of 2.5 gpm. It does not. I tested it and it was 2.0. Many customers have talked about removing the flow restrictor to get up to that promised water flow. I intended to do that but it is not as easy as some suggest, unless you are prepared to completely damage the o-ring and restrictor. Without knowing how much of an effect that would actually have, I was not. *update: I finally decided to remove the black O-ring. I had to break off one of the tiny white tabs holding the flow restrictor in place to do so, but that is okay. It doesn't affect anything, i.e. the flow restrictor will not fall out as a result. So, without just the O-ring, I was able to get water flow up to 2.5 gpm. While still not fantastic, it is better.I still give this showerhead 4 stars because of that great build quality, and the flow is pretty good. Most people will like it. But for those like my wife and I, the pressure is just not strong enough.
