AWFUL. Worked for one week. ActiveDesk doesn't have a phone number and is ignoring my email.
TERRIBLE and the worst customer service ever. This desk was great for one week. It assembled easily and worked well. After a week, it started clicking when it was on the way down. Then, it stopped moving up all together. It will go down but not up. The presets also stopped working. I called customer service and they offered me $90 back for my trouble, which I considered ridiculous given the situation. They will not replace it with a new one and they cannot put me in touch with the manufacturer. I went to the ACTIVEDESK website and there is NO contact information. I had to leave a request for someone to email me back on their blog. That was over a week ago. No one has bothered to get back to me. I'm extremely disappointed. I wouldn't waste your money on this one.

I can say I am very happy with my purchase
Being that I bought this directly from the team at Autonomous, I can say I am very happy with my purchase. I am actually typing this review on the SmartDesk Platform! The platform is of solid construction and very easy to to build. I love the numbered control panel and height read out.For the table top, I just went down to IKEA and picked up their longest table top. The platform can extend and provides great support in the middle of the table. Being that the IKEA table top is just particle board at its core, I was a bit concerned... but when all was put together; the SmartDesk provides rigidity and strength. Love having such a long table, can work on much more than just my desktop computer. One benefit that is not clear, is in the sitting position. You can lower the table to the point where your arms are at a perfect 90 degree angle. If you have a screen that adjusts in height, then you are perfectly positioned ergonomically speaking while in the sitting position. If you get this for your home, be prepared to miss your desk when you go to work, just convince your boss to buy you one. :)

Nice construction, easy to follow assembly instructions
Nice construction, easy to follow assembly instructions, with a single caveat:The instructions assumed that the desk top came with the kit. It does not, so you have to adjust to your own supplied desk top. In my case, I used a pre-existing Bush Series A 72 inch Peninsula that I tore apart and used with this kit. The net result is that I now have a very nice adjustable-height workspace that matches the rest of my office. The only issue I ran into is that the position of the legs (side-to-side) is dependent on the width of the connecting transfer rod, not the maximum possible spread of the connecting bars. Not a big deal, but about a 4" difference. Also, they don't really tell when or how to adjust for level. Again, probably not a big deal for most people and easily figured out for anyone with a little mechanical ability. If you don't raise the table before properly tightening the transfer rod, it may not be an issue for you.I'm using this desk with 3 x 29" 4K monitors and take advantage of the ability to change the height several times a day. I usually use one of the four preset positions that I have set up, but sometimes I like to adjust the height by an inch or two either way to change the viewing angle or to change the keyboard position when I'm noticing fatigue. I now typically stand about 65% of the time, sit on a tall stool 25% of the time, and sit at normal desk height about 10% of the time. It's nice to have these options at the press of a button.

Good Value after the first day
This works as advertised. This unit is significantly cheaper than most other height-adjustable desks, so I was skeptical when purchasing it. However, I was impressed with the quality of all the parts. All of the metal parts seem fairly sturdy and the plastic parts seem to be made well too. Assembling the desk wasn't too difficult, and I was able to do it by myself. The instructions were very clear. The motor is slow to raise the desk. I worry about the motor being cheaply made and expensive to replace. I have only been using the desk for a day, so I'll have to see about this.I bought a $30 top for this desk from Ikea. I had to drill holes in the ikea top to use it with the smart desk, but it worked fine after this. The article number for the Ikea top is 102.513.52.

Good if you know what you're doing and have the right tools to mess with it
works great and got it at a fair price, but you have to know what you're doing to assemble this model yourself.knocked off a star because the design is pretty flawed. There is a new version available so I should have known it wouldn't be perfect, but the desk is not designed to be used at the smallest width. I like a smaller desk to force myself to stay focussed on one thing at a time. There is an extendable metal support that allows you to change the width of the desk, and at the shortest width (not extended) the bar that turns the gears not only does not fit correctly but does not spin. I had to grind out areas of the legs and remove a couple nuts for it to work correctly.

Very good desk. Works well
Very good desk. Works well. Topped it with an IKEA bamboo top. Four stars only because I have doubts about Autonomous' service. Originally was going to buy direct and I called to see if the same model I eventually bought would fit my top. Told only more deluxe version would. Thought that was nonsense since specs for size were exactly the same. Also, kept getting ads for this desk for months advertising a lower price. Always when clicked on was higher. Does not bode well for attention being paid which often bodes ill for service. I did buy two more for our office and all working fine so far.
