Good fly traps
I’ve used 9-pack of these fly traps in my garden, and they worked exceptionally well. The smell is quite strong, especially when you're watering nearby plants, but it’s a small trade-off considering how well it clears out flies.Setup is simple: cut along the dotted line at the top, pull up the cap, fill water up to the marked line, and hang it. I usually leave it for about a week before disposing it.Highly recommend this fly trap!

It's super effective!
The media could not be loaded. Catch rate:I swear it catches 2-10 a minute depending on time of day in the summer.Design:I like how the bait packet dissolves slowly at first so that when you're activating it you don't have to deal with the pungent smell right off the bat. I took issue with another bait trap just for that. It works swimmingly. 😏 They go in, they forget how to get out, exhaust themselves or fall in the yuck and drown. Also the disgusting water evaporates very slowly. You can have it up for weeks and it's still catches flies. Even when it looks like the water is all gone it still catches flies.Smell:Yes, it stinks. It smells about as bad as Bradford Pear in bloom. I hung these next to our window and that was my bad, but I can't have the window open during these hot months anyways.Effectiveness:With these near the back porch the flies don't want to come inside. We used to have 5-10 in the house a day, but now it's less than 3 if any and I don't think they really want to stay. The flies that do get in are hypnotized by the stink juice and only want to go back outside. Seems to make them easier to kill.

Amazing fly traps, work quickly and good quality!
1 year update: I've used probably 4-5 of these traps since I bought them last summer and still love them. The bait clearly has a long shelf life because I just put a new one out a few days ago and it's already half full of flies. None of them have leaked. All of them catch THOUSANDS of flies very quickly, significantly reducing the nuisance level in my yard. I stopped bothering to fill them with hot water; just fill them from a hose, hang them up, and let mother nature warm them up. The only annoying thing is that one of them somehow came with the bait bag jammed up between the plastic pieces where the "cap" pulls out to open it. It took a few minutes to get it shoved back down into the bag without damaging the bag itself, but ended up okay. I'll definitely be reordering another pack of these when I run out.1 week update: The one in my front yard is almost FULL of flies. There's been a probably 90% drop in flies buzzing around my workbench when I'm in the garage. There's a dwarf apple tree of some sort next door that's full of rotting fruit so they won't completely go away, but the decrease in numbers has been great! I don't notice the smell unless I'm right next to the bag and there's no sign of leaking yet. Most of the liquid is gone so I'll probably throw it out and put up a new one soon. The one out back was ripped open probably by a raccoon but it still caught enough that my dog and I aren't being swarmed by house flies in the yard again yet! Wish I'd bought these years ago!Original review: Pests of all varieties have been driving me and my dog insane this year; deer flies, fleas, mosquitoes, biting gnats, and house/horse flies. I haven't used this kind of bag trap (even though I know they work) because they're stinky and a pain to dispose of but I'm desperate and SO GLAD I did. I put the first two out about a day and a half ago, one towards the street in the front yard and one hung in a tree out past the fenced-in part of my back yard. They were easy to open (cut a little past the dotted line or the top won't pull out easily), kind of awkward to fill in the shallow sink faucet (I'll use a spigot next time and let the sun warm them up), but they come with a nice hanging wire and it took maybe 2 minutes to set them up. There's no sign of leaking at least in these two.And wow do these things work!!! The one out front has a solid INCH of dead flies in it already. They're buzzing around the top all but fighting each other to squeeze inside and get caught! I haven't gone that close to the one in back, but for the first time all year, I went to pick up my dog's "business" tonight and it wasn't swarmed with flies by the time I walked across the yard! I haven't noticed any smell yet, but I also put them far enough from the house that it shouldn't be a problem. Now, one bit of false advertising is that these will NOT catch deer flies. Maybe the odd one by accident, but deer flies don't hunt by scent. The stinky bait in these will catch regular house and horse flies, probably most of the other varieties listed, but not deer flies. Those little jerks hunt by sight, looking for horizontal motion. They ARE attracted to the color blue, which maybe is why they claim this trap will catch them, but it's not moving and they won't be attracted to the scent of the bait, so they probably won't go inside.I normally use sticky traps for wasps and flies but the Rescue wasp traps have gotten EXPENSIVE the last couple years. The smaller Rescue fly traps aren't quite as expensive, work great, but are full in under a week so those get expensive too. (Yes, FULL, like someone rolled them in a bunch of dead flies!) I tried the really cheap Black Flag brand yellow sticky traps and those were a joke, nothing stuck to them and they fell apart in days. If you don't have that bad of a problem, or don't want to deal with the potential mess and stink of these traps, get the Rescue ones. If you're being driven absolutely batty by flies, get these traps!

Works great, Smells terrible
Why did you pick this product vs others?:This product does work really well, however it had a strong putrid odor. I don't have a large back yard, so I have limitations on where I can hang this, so anytime I'm in the yard I can smell it. It reminds me of my Uncle's pig farm, but 10x worse. I had to add water to the bag since it was getting low and the reactivated scent about knocked me out. I won't be using the 2nd bag because of that, but it does do a great job of clearing the flies out, and that's why I gave it 4 stars.

Does exactly what it says. Very effective
Does exactly what it says! I don't know why there are so many flies this year, but they are extremely annoying and they were starting to attract aggressive bald faced hornets which is not ok when there's someone allergic around. I needed something easy to use that I could put away from the house but close enough it would draw them away from my door. My trap has been up for 10 days and two of those days it stormed really hard. It says one bag can last 3 months or until it is full. I have a feeling I will be changing it when it is full before 3 month's time. Results you can see! This is very easy to use, doesn't attract butterflies, moths or bees, safe for pets (though my dog was very interested in the smell of they while they were in the box, so they are stored away from where curious pets can reach). It's funny to see some of them still buzzing around in there still alive... which I hope in turn attracts those bald faced hornets to their death in the trap.

Extremely effective and highly recommend
I live in an urban area and near a body of water, so flies, gnats and midges are a huge issue. Our patio and yard had become unbearable each summer. This product was extremely effective at getting rid of the problem and keeping them away! These traps filled up quickly and within a couple of days the problem was gone and the flies haven't returned. One thing to be aware of is that they do become very smelly, so follow the instructions and keep them far away from any seating or dining areas. If the wind shifts and is blowing towards you, the smell is too strong to enjoy being outside. Regardless, it was worth keeping them up for a couple of weeks to get rid of our summer fly problem.
