RAISING ELECTRONICS Cantilever Server Shelf Rack Mount 19inch 1U 6inch(150mm) Deep Aluminum

Light Weight but Perfect for my Application
Got this with a single purpose in mind; namely as a "top" or dust cover for a custom patch bay I put together. It's a shallow, wall mount, 4u server type rack that I only needed to fill with 3u worth of connectors. Maybe only an audio nerd could see this as a thing of beauty but I'm super stoked about how it turned out. This tray is definitely the cherry on the top. Let me know what you think by hitting the "helpful" button.I suppose I would have preferred the finish be matte, or at least not so glossy, but ultimately that's a little thing given the scope of the project (patch panel wired to in-floor stage boxes/pockets at a church).Note that all the Amazon photos appear to show this tray upside down. You obviously, most likely, want the opening above the tray and not below it!

Too wide
Didn't fit my rack while the rest of my devices fit perfectly. Its a bit too wide to fit, so double check the measurements of your rack and this item.

Lightweight and strong
This 6" deep aluminum 19" rackmount shelf is the lightest I have found. I like that it's metal (instead of plastic that could snap in an accident), and I like that it's aluminum (instead of steel that would weigh more). I measured its thickness to be 18 gauge (0.05" ≈ 1.27mm), which is relatively thin. The front and rear are folded into 1/2" lips that add stiffness and strength, but photos of the shelf painted black make it unclear which direction the lips are folded. My review clarifies this with a drawing I made showing the cross section in red. My drawing shows the lips are folded *into* the 1U rack space. Also, the 1/2" lips are stiffened further by 1/4" lips. I have never seen a steel shelf with that second fold, but it makes sense for 18 gauge aluminum. It makes the shelf feel as stiff as steel, but as light as aluminum. My drawing will help you see if this shelf will work for you.

Functional shelf, has a lip
It's a rack shelf, arrived as described and works as it should. Be aware this shelf has a lip on both sides, so if you are planning on mounting an item longer then the shelf base, it may not sit in the base properly. I mounted this into a square hole rack using 4 mounting tab and screws, it's very sturdy although not incredibly beefy. If it's what you are looking for, I'm sure it will work.

VERY light gauge aluminum
This is lightweight aluminum, which was expected. However, I didn't expect it to be as super light weight as it is. You can easily bend any part of it, including ears, with your fingers. I wouldn't use this for anything unless it was supported underneath, or absolute minimum weight was your primary concern. On the plus side, if you need to drill through it to mount something like a raspberry pi, that should be quite easy.If you need something better, and you aren't looking for absolute minimum weight, for only a few dollars more, you can get sturdy steel rack shelves of the same size.

Great price for a simple shelf
Nothing special here, just a standard computer / electronics rack mount shelf at a good price. I am satisfied with the quality and it came with screws for attachment. I'm using it to hold a few smaller items that are attached to my home network switch. Make sure you're aware of the 6" depth, as it may not be large enough for some items. For me, this was exactly what I needed and I would definitely recommend it to others looking for an inexpensive shelf.

This is not a deep shelf. If your need ...
This is not a deep shelf. If your need is to clean up some small items that are not rack mountable, this is a clean lightweight shelf for you. We used for little 5 port switches and some POE injectors to clean up small items from sitting on other rack mounted hardware.

Cheap shelf, but does the trick as long as it isn't damaged beyond repair.
I rated this a 1 star mainly because it arrived with one side of the shelf pretty bent up. Because it was going to be out of sight in a down stairs rack, I didnt really care to go through the process of filing for a return or exchange. Its sturdy enough to hold what was sitting on it. The box it came in showed no signs of damage, so it was disappointing to see the mangled side that I had to bend back with pliers to get it mounted in my rack. Otherwise it does just fine for what it cost.

Good value and the work
These are aluminum, so don't expect to put heavy stuff on them. I bought them to hold replica ancient computers and needed something narrow and light. They fit the bill perfectly.

Does exactly what it’s supposed to.
Nice lightweight and sturdy. I used this to float a Beatstep Pro near the bottom of my synth rack.

Thin metal.
Cheaply made. Would not use it to hold anything of any heft.
