Making progress with this text. A little cumbersome at times but effective

pretty good for what I need.

I bought this for my 9 year old. Every parent knows that you want a high probability of success for the child to maintain his/her enthusiasm. The book does not have an errata site and the projects ( at least the first coin toss one) can not be confirmed to work. I even adjusted for updates from other reviewers but they only check the context - not actually attempting the projects. For example, for the coin toss project, on page 110 where it gives a list of where to install jumpers it states these 3 among others: Jumper # 3 - strip 5 to 16 Jumper # 5 - strip 7 to 19 Jumper # 6 - strip 2 to 6 But strips 16, 7, and 6 are never mentioned again in the instructions leaving them disconnected to anything. Also, pin 5 of the 555 Timer is being tied to resistors ultimately to pins 7 and 8 but the original electrical schema never calls on pin 5. The exact same project and problems appear in the second edition as well. This book is garbage for novices wanting to learn and successfully build electronics projects from the book. Honestly, i tried to give it a zero star.
