David Gaughran desertcart Decoded: A Marketing Guide to the Kindle Store : Gaughran, David: desertcart.ae: Books Review: I've HAD to read a lot of textbooks in my life - mostly during the 9 years I spent in college (that ended decades ago). All of those textbooks zoned me out and put me to sleep. I don't remember one that I wanted to read ... unless there were more photos than words. Reading most assigned textbooks, it seems, is mental torture I prefer to avoid. However, for a nonfiction marketing book, Gaughran's writing style kept me wanting to read more as if I was reading a mystery thriller. Sorry, no romance. Well, maybe not. You might find some if you read his nonfiction. And, I found humor. What I was learning was not torture. It was fast-paced and fun. I've already joined Gaughran's YouTube channel, his blog, signed up for his newsletter, and will be reading more of his books. It seems Gaughran offers most of his marketing eBooks free, but I prefer the paperbacks, and I am willing to pay the price. Now that I'm a serious fan, I want to read this author's science fiction, but he publishes that under a pen name and keeps that secret close. I tried a Google search and nada, nothing. That is a close kept secret, and I don't blame him. In fact, after publishing one historical fiction and a few thrillers under my real name, after reading desertcart Decoded, when I finally finish my first Sci-Fi-fantasy, I will publish that series under a pen name, too. To understand why this is important, you'll have to read desertcart Decoded. "desertcart Decoded" is the 5th book I have read about marketing online, but the only one that I enjoyed learning from. Gaughran made learning fun. In his last life, he must have been a great classroom teacher that his students loved. Review: This was a fantastic book! I'm looking forward to using the online resources that come with it. Lots of info to digest, but worth it. I love the humor injected throughout, too, making the heaviness of info easier to handle.

A very helpful book containing a ton of info I had not previously seen or read elsewhere. If you are thinking of self publishing books or already do, this resource is indispensable. It will have you immediately change up some things you never knew were important that might take five minutes on the back-end but ensures results: more sales!

A great primer on the ins and outs of Amazon. This was the first book I read on Amazon. I found it comprehensive and easy to understand. Yet it was a huge let down at the end when all of the strategies were targeted toward series writers.

I downloaded a sample, then bought the paperback. It does explain how amazon algorithm works and how to take advantage of it.
