Update 6/28/21: Still going strong, even after my daughter dressed it up as a Minion from Despicable Me Fantastic value! Update: After 10 months, bringing my rating up to 5 stars. A sturdy, solid performer. Although the concerns below are still valid, this meter represents great value for the money. Good features for the price, with a few issues. The good: Sturdy construction, has a good weight to it, unlike some others Both A and C weighting Auto ranging Back lit display Uses AAA batteries rather than expensive 9 volt Yellow color easy to find under low light conditions (on stage or at FOH) The not-so-good: Backlight button not consistant (sometimes turns on light, other times it takes a press or two) Front and back of injection molded casing different shades of yellow Unknown accuracy (all low priced, uncertified meters have this problem.Certified calibrated meters are too expensive for a hobbyist like me ;) No external calibration port Can be used for checking relative levels only. this meter could be off by 3 or 4 dB, who knows? A difference of 3 dB will halve the permissible exposure time: 85 dBA+ 8 hours 88 dBa = 4 hours per NIOSH recomendation/OSHA regs (all uncertified meters could have this problem) On the whole, a solid piece of gear with good features at a nice price. compares favorably with other uncertified meters at 3 times the price. Long term use may be compromised by lack of a calibration port, as accuracy can drift over time. The meter is new, used for one gig so far.I will report back any further pluses and minuses, if any come up.

Easy to use and does take an accurate reading. The instructions are terrible.

Device works well out of the box to measure loud noise. But after repeated use, 2 of 4 meters drifted badly, and were unusable. There's no calibration port. Booklet with device states one must contact manufacturer for calibration instructions, but no manufacturer name or contact exists. Contacted protmex-instruments via alibaba, no response. The alibaba page states protmex is a distributor not manufacturer. This is a simple fail, the PM6708 is a good product, just needs calibration. Company needs to rectify.

I purchased this device for the desire to know more about the sound level of equipment. It is for my own education as I work with HVAC equipment and specify equipment noise level. After using this device several things in the past few weeks, I found the features are easy to use. It is not hard to read and understand the manual. The price range is reasonable. I don’t find any problem with the device at all – everything works as it describes. I don't have another similar device, so I cannot say anything about its accuracy, but I believe that it will be within the tolerance which they describe.

It’s a fine SPL meter at a very good price.

I use this in combination with a tone generator for adjusting home theater channel levels. Seems well calibrated out the box. Unit is comfortable in hand and appears well made.

It shipped to me -1.1 dB off when using a 94 dB calibration puck. The description says it can be user calibrated but I couldn’t get it to enter calibration mode despite following the manual instructions exactly. It may suit for casual reference but if you need more accuracy I would search for a model that allows user calibration.

I had an event where there were specific db restrictions at a very specific spot on the venue's property. Using this db meter, I was able to eliminate any pushback on volume as I knew that I was exactly under the venue's requirements. Thankfully I didn't receive those requests, but I had evidence in hand.

Easy to use with full instructions, and very accurate.

I wanted to monitor the sound at my gym and provide data to them on the levels. I found the device could not be seen in the dark of an RPM class and putting on the light was a total pain and disturbing. I didn't want to look at the device all the time and hoped to have a reasonable output I could use. You can buy a $2.99 app on an iPhone and get a better result. I compared the app to the device and found they gave a similar result. I was horrified to find that the device gets less reliable after a year and you need to spend a whole lot more to recalibrate it.

校正できないので正確性はわかりませんが、静かな住宅地で40db(A)前後の表示 でしたので、そんなにおかしな数値は出ていないように思います。 スマホの騒音計アプリはアプリによって全然数値が違うので、そもそも正確では なく、はかり比べても参考にはなりませんでした。 今度機会があったら校正されたものとはかり比べてみますが、個人使用には十分 な性能ではないでしょうか？ ボタンの文字等は何度も使っているとすぐに消えそうな感じでしたが、まー、押 してみればLCD画面の表示が変化するので分かると思います。 LCDにはMAXとMINの表示がありますが、MINのホールドはできませんMAXのみ。 電池は単4☓4本で、入れるところの精度が悪いのかキツキツですが、四角の9V 電池より入手しやすいので goodです。 マニュアルはなくても使えそうですが、必要なら「PT6708 manual .pdf」で 検索すると KPS-SN10という同等と思われる製品のスペイン語版の下に英語版 が記載された pdfが見つかります。 これを googl翻訳などにかければ日本語化できました。 マニュアルから 電源onで30-130dbの表示で大体のdbを把握し必要なレンジに▲▼で切り替えて 正確な測定をするように書いてあります。 使い方で注意するのはそれくらいですかね？

l'ho comprato per avere una certezza sul volume dei locali discoteche dove lavoro, mi ha risolto un gran problema con il gestore, che davanti alle continue lamentele del vicinato, ha vuto dei paramentri affidabili con cui dimostrare di essere in piena regola, l'apparecchio mi e stato consigliato dall'arpa lazio, che vengono a fare i controlli prima dell'inizio della stagione, ma poi si sa i dj tendono ad esaggierare si toccano alcuni paramentri ed ecco i dubbi, be con meno di 50 euro te li togli, abbiamo avuto sembre dati live per poter sapere di essere in regola con buona trenquillita dle gestore e anche del vicinato. ampio display retroilluminato ci vogliono due batterie per farlo funzionare, sul manuale c'e la procedura per settarlo e calibrallorlo al primo uso, poi ha diverse impostazioni fra cui anche una per i db di musica o alti rumori davvero completo
